Managers do not care about casual worker's social lives/university/sixth form. They're only concerned about themselves, their own careers and reaching shop targets.

It stated on the contract that we would be personally notified before each 'assignment' (shift) and had the right to accept or decline each shift at our own will. This is most certainly not the case. Instead, a rota is put up on the wall outside staffroom and we must work each shift given, otherwise the managers get upset and threaten to send P45 despite them knowing that most of us are in school/college/uni and that the job is casual. This is a breach of contract.

If you take time off sick, they claim they require "reliable" workers, but who can help being ill over winter?

Managers often rudely talk down to most of the casual workers, often favouring the part and full time staff as they're their own children. Yet most of the shouting and moaning occurs after the store has closed when no customers are around. 

We are all forced to work unpaid overtime, for example: a shift may state 9-5. We would be expected to arrive at about 8:30, and then the store would close at five o'clock and we'd stay behind at least half an hour to tidy and do standards and do tills - unpaid, despite any commitments we may have afterwards.

The staffroom is very small, unclean and does not have enough seats or coat hangers, which is bad when there are nearly 50 workers in on a match day.

Sales advisors including casuals, part and full times, are all polite, knowledgeable and able to work as a team.

Some shifts are very long i.e 9-11 (which would really be 8:30-11:30) during match days with late kick-offs. But there are some good shifts such as 10-2.

The only benefit is the salary, at £7.20, this beats most other standard retail jobs.

I really liked working for LFC, the hours were very casual and the uniform was very nice! This was my first hospitality job and I’m glad it was here; the training is decent (could’ve been better but you learn on the job- everyone is willing to help), you get some good experience in the industry, and people seem impressed when you say you’ve worked here. Pay is also good (apprx. £10 an hour when aged 18+). Since most hospitality staff are pretty young (16-20 ish) the shifts can be fun and a great way to make new friends. Only downsides were that shifts were quite rare (expect to only work when Liverpool play there) and you can be moved around a lot- after a while in one lounge you could be randomly moved to another which involves totally different responsibilities- for example I started out in a buffet-style lounge but after moving around a bit I managed to stay in a more formal, sit-down restaurant doing waitressing. You could also be either waiting-on or bar staff- but it’s worth letting the lounge manager know what you prefer. The hours are also unreliable as you may not know if you could be staying 4, or up to about 9 hrs; it depends on what the managers decide and what you’re role is, which can be annoying. But other than that, I definitely recommend if you want something easy, casual and are just starting out in the hospitality industry (and if you’re a Liverpool fan)!

I am currently working part time at Liverpool F.C. as a NVQ level 2 crowd control. My roles involve, making sure the customers and V.I.P's are met and greeted in a warm and friendly manner, report any health and safety issues,direct the public as safely as possible to wherever they need to go. I am responsible for cash escorts which involve large sums of cash and also make sure supporters are adhering to the rules the club has set out, such as foul and abusive language and intoxication as we have very high standards to make sure match days are run in a warm and friendly family environment. I also undertake security work to make sure any undesirables are removed from the ground. I consider myself helpful friendly individual who is flexible, reliable and punctual person who always gives 100% to whatever my role maybe. I very much love meeting new people especially from all over the world. I enjoy working alone or part of a team. I am attentive, very good at taking instructions as well as using my own initiative

A typical day at work was working productively every day together as a team, it was as though we wasn't working even though we was but we all felt as though we was doing something in which we loved. Whilst working at Liverpool FC I learned so much due to sales and hospitality opportunities. The mangers at Liverpool FC are amazing people who get on with everybody in the workplace, they are the type of managers who you can have a little chat to about anything. Everything was enjoyable about the job and there was never anything that me or any other work colleagues could fault.

Prep up, cook. greet guests. take order from guests. cook order. clean down. 
entertain guest whilst cooking. 
management is supportive and professional. 
the work place culture is hard but fun once all is finished.
there is no hard part to my job as i absolutely love every minute of it. I walk in with a smile on my face and walk back out with it still on.

Personally this working pattern did not suit me as the shifts were too far apart. However I also found this role to be quite boring and disengaging as most of the time spent 'at work' was waiting for the customers to come, eg. a 5 hour shift would be maybe 1 1/2 hours serving and 2 hours stocking and cleaning maybe the rest would be waiting around.

Working a Liverpool Football Club has really opened my eyes to the working life and I wouldn't change my decision to work there if I had the chance. I have met some amazing people working for the company and I am grateful to have them in my life. Liverpool Football Club isn't just a place of work, it's a family unit and I would recommend a job to anyone.

I have worked for Liverpool FC for five and a half years now and I love every minute of it. 

I've always wanted to work at the club in some aspect since I was little and I couldn't of asked for better. 

The stewards I work with and the regular fans in my section are all like my adopted family.

Id recommend anyone to work here it's fantastic.

I have learned new communication and customer service skills.

The job can be stressful during match days and is very commanding. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people from around the world.

Get to watch football enjoy concerts and get to know some lovely people and make some life long friends x there are a lot of people who you meet on match days who become regulars and you get to know them like friends the atmosphere is electric and can’t be beaten x
