Living Arts Centre

When I was volunteering as an Assistant Instructor, I had already been with the Living arts Centre for about 2 years. The work environment was very positive, there was always somethings do and my coworkers absolutely loved the arts (as I do) and were great company to have around. Volunteering with the Living Arts Centre for a total of 3 1/2 years was a great growing opportunity for both gaining work experience as well as experience with such a wide range of arts, from dance to drama to painting.

I worked at the living arts centre as a coop student to get job experience so I could know what its like to be in a working environment and I truly enjoyed it. I was not paid because it was for high school but I am looking for a part-time paying job now to help pay my student fees for college.

Fun place to work as well as a very professional place. Met lots of new and exciting people through different events held at the center and was able to see what the center was able to offer in terms of spacing and hospitality.

They treat their instructors well and create a positive cooperative space for all! Regular school hours with positive management. Lots of freedom for lesson plan development.

got to work in several different camps with different groups of kids. hours were consistent and pay was good. camp supervisors and managers were fun and easy to get along with, made for a good work environment.

Interactive and engaging for new volunteers in order to develop more communication skills. It allowed to gain more teamwork skills in order to work with others and communicate effectively.

The most stressful and demoralizing place in the world to work. Management is a nightmare. Stay away if you value your sanity. There is no work life balance, the pay is terrible and the atmosphere is hostile and abusive.

It was an amazing volunteer experience. Loved guiding people through out the event, and keeping things under control through management.

Loved the group I had the pleasure of being paired with. I wish the pay was more, and the counsellors had longer breaks but otherwise, a great place to work.
