What is the best part of working at the company?
got to meet other employees great people to work with , learn lots  about lighting and their manufacturer, the manager i had was great friendly outgoing and a team player and easy to talk to. Great experience and you get to learn about fixtures , decorating skills, and different types of lighting

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to wait for shipments or finding that there are backorders and you have to tell the customers. Or even the manufacturers send you the wrong item.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
is great culture you can work independently or as a team and there is minimal supervision and you always have a say in what is happening

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Monday to Friday was busy but for periods of time, the weekends were busy and time went fasters Thursdays was a long day and sometimes it was dead no traffic or customers would  arrive at the last minute

A typical work day is arriving early, ready to help customers. Most rewarding for me, is being able to help a customer achieve their dreams  and see your  impute come to life.

 When Management and co-workers work well together the sky is usually the limit. In this instance we had that, there was cooperation among everyone and the sales were high. Above all, the staff was happy; and I believe very strongly that when your staff is happy, the sales go up.

Each day when I came in, I would use windex and clean the windows and all glass surfaces, plus dust all the lamps and shelves. If necessary, I would rearrange the products and restock the shelves. The day was typically long, as at this location the business was quite slow. The co-workers I had, were not very friendly, but I made the best of the position and interacted with the customers and assessed their lighting needs and made recommendations and closed many sales each day.

Typical day:  9 hours with 30 minute lunch
What was learned:  How to process purchase order shipments
Management:  Helpful and supportive with input appreciated.
Co-workers:  Friendly and helpful.
Hardest part of job:  Dealing with unhappy customers.
Enjoyable part of job:  Arranging the store to be visually pleasing.

A typical day for this job is coming in and making sure the sales floor is good to go. sometime making a new display.  during the day you will be helping the customer coming into the store.  other times clients from the local builders would send in there clients and we would go over the lighting plan budget and pick out lighting options for them.

I enjoyed my 10 years working at the store. I learned that I am a fair and hard working individual especially with the heavy weight and ladder work. I enjoyed troubleshooting and never gave up. Working with the lighting reps I found enjoyable, the insite they gave me for this business I found very interesting.

Staff made me feel welcome during my 2 week, un-paid co-op placement with their company. They provided excellent guidance on how to do my tasks correctly and effectively. Management is excellent to their staff, providing treats for workers on holidays and also provided a pizza lunch for myself and another student on our last day of our co-op placement.

This place is not the best place to work for. They want to hire people with education and experience in Interior Design and Decorating but they dont want to pay your worth. The work is fun for anyone in the above mentioned fields however you will only get paid for retail. 
Overall mostly friendly environment, somewhat relaxed.

A typical day would be waiting on customers and hearing their concerns regarding lighting conditions, their décor or just obtaining light bulbs.  The most enjoyable part of the job was the customers.

Family run business with members working on staff and Management roles.
Family employees had different standards and rules to adhere to then regular staff.
