Lococos

Former employee at the plant in question (92 Highland road east). Here’s what you can actually expect from this job: Clique driven work culture, if you’re in the “in” crew it can be okay working here, if not, good luck. Management has a sweep it under the rug mentality. Concerns become “go back to work” and issues go unresolved until they break out into screaming matches. You can expect to go home early everyday atleast 2hrs+, this adds up, if you’re a hard worker, expect to do you job and others, expect little to no training, expect raises to be small and rare. Christmas bonus? No holiday pay? No night shift premium? Nope. There’s a reason there hiring 4 people at once. Don’t turn a blind eye and save yourself the mental headache.

Supervisors are very lazy. PAY IS LOW (13.40) and workers alwaysss complaining. There is mice everywhere, food is always expired & mice always eats the bread. The Co-workers are extremely friendly so I got along with them well, Teamwork is always there! Coworkers help you with codes to the food and help you bag up groceries. The store is open till 9 on weekdays so the last hour was EXTREMELY slow with nothing to do. Was easy to memorize the codes for everything, interview not hard (was over the phone). 

Only posting this because i see they have their marketing department posting completely misleading reviews.  It's not a good company to work for, very little regard for human life.  Coworkers and management are great for the most part but the rot comes from above which drags the whole company down over time. If you need a serious job, keep looking .. so many opportunities out there.

Upper management do not take any complaints seriously. If you do complain there will be consequences, more work unfair treatment ect. There’s no outlet to report this the higher ups in the company side with upper management always. They pay minimum wage for a ridiculous amount of work. Management do as little as possible and let the regular employees do the brunt of the work. The job title should be “whipping dog”

Friendly community of employees. Worked their after my third year of university in order to make some money to help with school. Management was good and hours were also well dispersed. Work may become tedious especially if you are a new employee. I would often be assigned tasks that others would not want to do because of seniority. Overall ok experience and worth it for a student.

My experience at Lococo's is VERY different than the reviews I am reading here.  The management is VERY understanding and easy going.  Of course, there is an expectation of a job that needs to get done but nothing outrageous. Working weekends will be expected - it is a grocery store after all.  Overall a really wonderful company and I would definitely recommend it.  

Management is not good at all, they like to gossip and make fun of people,  including people with disabilities. Lazy workers get treated better some how. Management says not to something and then goes it does it but hey they are allowed somehow. Safety issue, people using equipment that is not allowed and not getting in trouble for it. 

Good place to work if you do not want to advance or receive raises for a job well done.  Tend to pick favourites despite their work ethics.  Lazy people are praised and hard workers end up getting the bad end of the deal. At one time they did provide profit sharing to all employees, then got rid of it.  Also cancelled benefits and cut hours on a regular basis.

Honestly one of the worst places I’ve ever worked!! No raises and bad management. Always short staffed. Management does not care about their employees!!! Never make full hours! If your looking for full hours lococos meat plant is not for you! Any problem pretty much never gets dealt with and so much favouritism! 

Working at the lococos is great if you can handle the cold and The sight and smells of all our food before they are cooked lol,there are alot of perks including Weekly food card draws, ability to hand pick your families favorite cuts as well as discount at retail stores, JP
