What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of the company was in the past when leadership still felt local and connected to Montreal. When it was more family-owned, employees felt like people instead of numbers. There was a stronger sense of community, stability, and accountability before constant restructuring and corporate politics took over.

The most stressful part was dealing with leadership politics and constantly feeling unheard. Employees would bring forward ideas, improvements, or solutions, only to later see management present those same ideas as their own. It created an environment where people stopped wanting to contribute because recognition and accountability rarely went to the people actually doing the work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical week often felt stressful and uncertain. There was a constant feeling of wondering who might be let go next, especially toward the end of the week when restructuring rumours would start again. Meetings regularly ran past working hours, and extra time often felt expected rather than appreciated.

For employees relying on public transportation, long commutes made things even harder. Arriving early or staying late was treated as normal, even when it added several unpaid hours to the workday. Work-life balance was discussed often, but in practice many employees felt pressure to always be available regardless of personal circumstances.

I’ll be straight up — this place pays well, but that’s where the positives end in my experience.

Since the new ownership took over, the environment went downhill fast. Job security felt uncertain, and there was a constant sense of wondering what things would look like week to week.

Let’s talk about Thursdays — because during my time there, some layoffs happened toward the end of the week. Over time, it created a perception among employees that those days were more stressful, and people became uneasy about being called into meetings late in the week.

The place feels like a revolving door. People come in, people leave, and it just keeps cycling. It affects morale and makes it harder to feel stability within a team.

The atmosphere is draining. Everything feels urgent, pressure is constant, and there’s little flexibility or understanding — it’s often just “do it now.”

I also had an experience with an IT staff member who raised his voice at me because I couldn’t update my computer immediately. That kind of interaction reflects the level of pressure and lack of patience I experienced.

Yes, you’ll get paid well. But in my experience, it comes with a lot of stress and uncertainty.

If you’re thinking about working here, it’s worth understanding both sides.

Logistec used to be a great company to work for and it used to be a company where leadership truly cared about employees.  Things have changed dramatically, especially in the last two years.

The impression that is given is that management really doesn’t care and that they want employees to leave on their own.

It is very difficult to achieve any goals.  Priorities are constantly shifting and resources are stretched extremely thin.  This translates to employees working harder but not better.  Many high level positions have been added or have changed and each leader is moving in their own direction. There is no cohesiveness across departments and everyone is working  on many different things.

Employees with experience are not appreciated and end up leaving or laid off.  This means that core knowledge is lost and is not replaced.  Frustration amongst remaining employees is palpable.



I previously worked at Logistec, and while the pay was decent, the work environment was extremely toxic. Turnover was constant — entire departments would be let go on Thursdays with no warning.
The culture was inconsistent and unprofessional, Directors walked around in shorts and open-toed shoes while telling employees they couldn't do the same. I also witnessed unacceptable behaviour, including an IT team member yelling at an employee because their English wasn't perfect.
Leadership didn't prioritize people, and the new COO made that even more obvious. For a company dealing with ships, the irony is that the place felt like a sinking ship.
I'm grateful for the experience, but I wouldn't recommend this workplace to anyone looking for a healthy or supportive environment.

Great place to work and grow your career. They walk the talk. A real family! I really see Logistec expanding in other regions/countries. Taking a big digital shift now (never too late). Only good things to say.

Training is very helpful in the tasks of all the employees.
