Longos has good life/work balance, depending on how your manager is. I had one manager who I got along with very well, but the company likes to move management around to different locations as the company grows. My new manager doesn't seem to care too much about the days I need off and how much I would like to work. He only believes in 8-9 hr shifts totaling to 42 hrs a week for part timers and doesn't seem to care about his co-workers that much. However he is  a very laid back manager and doesn't talk down to you (unlike others)

There is one manager in another department who talks down to all of my co workers in MY department, but when he talks to me he's all nice. I know this because my co workers tell me their experiences with him. It's biased and I really do not approve of such behaviour.

Expect to stay a bit later when closing as the store does not kick customers out when the store closes. And if you go to the North Oakville Location, it is very busy often times so expect to hustle and work.

Overall working at Longos was enjoyable.  The workplace allowed for a smooth environment and organized the equipment well.  Sadly the management was unhelpful most of the time and mistakes were made that the general employees had to deal with.  We were under staffed often, and it was not rare to be missing some ingredients.

The company however dealt with us well.  We received raises yearly and bonuses too if the store met it's revenue quota.  All staff, including part timers, had benefits for things like massages or dental work.

they removed bonuses and give nothing in terms of raises to people who stick around, constantly short staff and attempt to guilt people in on days off. have zero respect for workers. management is useless and will be drinking coffee doing nothing all day while the department has 1 actual part time worker. whole chain should be burnt to the ground. also just in case you shop there and read this, nothing is real in the stores, its all frozen garbage reheated and packaged like it was made in store

I mainly collected carts as my job entaled but I also collected baskets, stocked items that were returned by customers helped around the store, helped customers and changed garbage's. Too much was expected of me at one time such as collecting carts when they were low on a busy day but also to receive lip about not collecting baskets and other things while being told to prioritize carts.

Offers flexible hours, good job for someone going to school. 
A typical day at Longo's would be a very Productive and Inspiring. Working with the team members gives you a lot of teamwork skills and also a help to develop some leadership skills. The management is very well regulated and the company has several programs to enhance their employees potential.

Team members over-worked and underpaid. If you move up to department manager, your pay is salary (yearly) and they make you sign a contract stating you will work 54 hours per week with no overtime pay. Management does not treat team members well. Very poor leadership.

Working at Longo's is very satisfying because I get to interact with a lot of people both customers and staff.  I also get to host a lot of events, which is nice to do because it gets kids happy and families are happy as well.  I have moved up through my six years at Longo's and find it very exciting to work everyday.

As a high school student, I felt this job provided me with a great start into the job field. The work environment was very content, and the customers were a joy to serve. It felt like a very large family, and I enjoyed working at Longo's.

WOrking at McDonalds was a more enjoyable experience than working at Longo's and McDonald's was nearly the death of me. The tasks are easy to the point of severe boredom and time has a tendency to drastically slow
