I worked at the Casino of Montreal for 5 years. The first year i was happy to be there, it was new and they had very good reputation plus the salary was very good. Today im not working there anymore but i still have friends working there and they all changed jobs inside the Casino. Everybody thinks they will have a secure job with good salary with good advantages but the truth his different. Employees with 20 years working there they still dont have the "secure job". In fact its not secure at all because you could actually get "bumpep", meaning someone who has more years of employement in the Casino could take your job! They change your schedule any way they want. The dream job..becomes a prison job, you loose your trust in yourself and you are afraid of leaving the golden jail. In fact you are working in a business who destroys people, gambling. The actual direction and bosses dont really care of their job, they just want to keep it so they can retire happy 25 years later. Casino should be private, 50% of the actual Casino employees would loose their job. Anyway i support the employees that work there now and they didnt find the courage i found to leave that golden prison. Goodluck everyone!

I worked at service a la clientele. I would take care of the tour buses and groups, show the clients around the casino. We had our work stations where we would hand out pamphlets and we would direct anyone that would seem to be lost or needed help with something. 
The casino had player cards that would be given to their clients and I also worked behind a station where i printed out these player cards if ever someone would loose theirs or needed to create one.
The most enjoyable part of the job was walking in; bright lights good music, great co-workers.
What I did not enjoy was my hours, I did not have a fixed shift so I would never know what to expect each week. I would sometimes do mornings one day and than do night the next, and than an evening or maybe sometimes just come in for 3-4 hours. 
We had our meals taken care of, a really nice cafeteria with great food, and lounges were the employees could go relax or take a nap.
Management was good, all the managers were friendly and were always there for you if you needed anything.
Overall a really fun experience,

A typical day at work for me would consist of starting at 6h45 P.M. and walking around my sector of the casino paying out jackpots won on the slot machines. I would socialize with clients, reserve machines, fill the machines and perform small technical support if it was within my knowledge and finishing at 7h15 A.M. with three 30 minute breaks in between. 

I learned how to deal with various clients, how slot machines operated, how to determine whether or not a bill is counterfeit and how to identify clients with gambling problems. 

My fellow co-workers were the most enjoyable part of the job. We were all a team of good people who knew how to have fun and help each other out. 

The hardest part of the job was being on call and working nights and trying to balance with school.

As for the management, it would really depend on the supervisors and if there were job cuts coming up. Most of the time it was fine, but sometimes, during stressful periods, it was hard to work when the managers were watching and taking note of everything we were doing.

I worked there precovid...so not sure how it is now.

Interview was excellent. Testing after. I took first available spot to test to show I wanted the position.
Only a hearing test was required for guest services. I believe card dealers or other similar position required drug testing also.

It is a noisy environnement at time...nence the hearing test prior to start job.

If you get hired expect the following. Free uniforms, cleaned on site
Meals are provided so is parking spot if needed.
You will be on shift work...possibly temporary on call with 40+ hours unlimited overtime at peak times. 
Full benefits are available once you become full time permanent. You get a premium on pay until that point...so other then status and health benefits pay was compensated enough to afford those services.

Typical day at work 
I would start my day 11:00 AM and would end it at 09:00 PM .  

The casino was open from Thursday to Sunday from October to May
May to October 7 days a week 
Thursday : 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM 
Friday : 12:00 PM to 03:00 AM 
Saturday : 11:00 AM to 03:00 AM
Sunday : 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM 

I would greet, during the lunch hours most days bus groups of elderly citizens .  Some time up to 200 in 3 hours .  Alone .  It is a hard job for your mind .  You need lots of patience .  

Management has difficulties recognizing the hard work these employee do .  
Most full time employees did not have 40 h ( More 35 h and lower)
Most employees have 2 jobs or work multiple department to get to 40 h .

I worked there for multiple years and left because I truly hated my managers. If you struggle with the work conditions and confide in them, they will use it against you to look like they are "fixing" a problem and make it seem like they're doing a great job. It's also depressing to know you will have to work there for years and acquire seniority to have decent work conditions, otherwise you have to work the bad shifts, and everyone that has been there for long keeps talking about how downhill it has been going but they feel stuck there. I heard the golden cage analogy and it's very accurate.

Are you ready to make money and work for employer that thrive on putting you down and making you feel you are worthless, welcome to Casino Mont-Tremblant! Yes welcome back to the 1980's where bosses have a "do what i say, don't do what i do!" mentality. It is the only place where you will hear employees talk negative about the management and not the customers. Expect to be bossed around and told what to do with a stern face. Take a little lower wage and go work somewhere else and be happier it will be worth it ...trust me ;)

Abusivement language from the clients is very tolerated. Working nights. Weekend. Christmas. New Year’s Eve. Everyday off for everyone else you will work them. Don’t expect coaching for you to advance. If you have a spine and are opinionated forget promotion. The direction wants to have docile so you can spread their BS messages.   

You either love it or you don't, not a place to stay for long it's a hit and quit type of job some people can last 20 years others not more than 2 months. You either can handle the environment or not. You have to try it out for yourself to know if the job is right for you. If you're the type of person that likes to stay busy all the time and you enjoy doing things this job is maybe not for you.

I loved working at the casino, but the hours did not suit me anymore. What I will miss the most are my colleagues and the jokes we used to say.
The atmosphere was always fun and dynamic.
I learned that teamwork was much more fruitful than working alone. Helping one another and listening to others is the key to success in a big company like this.
