Lower Mainland Steel

I'm not going to outright trash my experience with lms and I'm not going to outright praise lms. They pay me enough to get by but when you take into account how long I've worked for them and how much they pay others compared to me it doesn't look good and would leave a bad taste in anyone's mouth with enough sense in the head. 
I've worked quite a length with them been extremely loyal but if you again compared guys who've put in way less and get way more it doesn't seem fair. I'll be honest if I ever become famous they're not going to be able to cash in on that I simply won't allow it based on what I've got compared to what I've given. I'm not a very socially proficient person very introverted and inclusive and I would have to say I absolutely suck at climbing the so called ladder but I try and be kind and acceptable about others. I would way rather just stay home and play video games and stream shows but that isn't very feasible and would get boring to be honest but at this point that's what I enjoy. That and I have the tendency to rant these days. But getting back to lms I'd still recommend it for anyone looking for a decent opportunity so long as you're not afraid to put in a lot of hard work.

LMS has been an amazing journey for me all the faces and people I've met have been spectacular and very influential in my life in many positive ways. The work load can vary but usually it's always large which keeps you busy. The shifts are long and grueling but your paid well for it and it's always satisfying when that paystub comes in. I love my job with lms, there is a few small things I'd like better for myself with the schedule which isn't the biggest deal but other than that absolutely solid choice in my opinion. Good choice if your active and like physical work with some critical thinking involved and lots of steel dust to go around. Also never short on work hours. 👍

The work is fairly physical but as you advance in the yard you'll find yourself working less and less hard. If you're an "outdoor cat" and want to work in the trades this is a place to consider. You won't be making big money but you'll never be asked to do anything that requires much thought or training. The pace is slow and the work is monotonous so if you get bored easy this isn't for you.

Rainy and awful in the winter and boiling hot and sweaty in the Summer.

Started off great as they took me in with no experience and I found a love for placing steel felt like there was a sense of family among the crew, I started feeling taken advantage of and i was the only one with a license i had to drive all the guys home. Although I was progressing I never saw a pay raise in the year I worked there.

The day starts in the shack with the Forman going over the hazards you will encounter throughout the day. Afterwards it's all heavy labour. Harzards include slipping on the deck, falling off ladders or down stairs, overhead cranes, falling objects and muscle strain.

LMS is a rebar company where they cut and bend the steel for the jobs in the field, my job as a driver was to deliver the steel to the job sites, at the time of my employment I was running the highway but they contracted that out. Overall it's a good place to work, good people there and I made a few long term friends working there

Packing and placing steel bars and reading blueprints, Met a lot of awesome people along the way.Very intensive labour work packing those rods, which I enjoyed

Management needs to be more selective in employees who can be team players and should enforce a more positive work culture rather then allow negative behavior against a healthy team environment.

it was an ok job for a while the pay wasn't to bad and the people I worked with where awesome. I learned how to tie and cut rebar and the hardest I thought was packing the 35 amp rebar

Ok place to work,they getting better,the money payd allways on time.
They slowly improve the company,new management.
Already made the plan to replace the equipments.
