The absence of structure and guidelines made it difficult to prioritize tasks and led to confusion and miscommunication within the workplace.

Without a clear framework for my position resulted in an excessive workload that was difficult to manage. The lack of procedures made it difficult to identify and address issues as they arose, leaving me feeling unsupported and helpless in my role.

On top of this, the pay for this position was significantly below industry standards, making it a constant struggle to make ends meet. The added stress of financial insecurity only compounded the difficulties of an already challenging work environment.

Middle management constantly falsely promises the opportunity for growth within the company which couldn't be farther from the truth.

Overall, I cannot recommend this company to others. The lack of structure, inadequate compensation, and excessive workload created a toxic work environment that was unsustainable in the long term. Unless significant changes are made to improve the working conditions of this position, I would advise job seekers to consider alternative employment options.

I started working there right away. Barely any training, kinda just thrown into it. Working in the OPS department, there was a lot of other new people. It was great until pilots were screaming at you, airports were mad we were delayed constantly, and everything seemed to be your fault. My coworkers were extremely nice, until the drama started and you heard people were talking about you and how your work wasn’t good. For the most part management is extremely helpful and is always on your side. The managers in ops don’t take bs from people and always were there to defend you. I loved the opportunities given to me with the experience from this position, however some people ruined it due to the attitude brought into work. It is a fast paced job when in an IROP, or during a cancellation. Other than that you are sitting trying to pass time. We often would put on movies or order food for everyone which was nice.  The pay is not great for the stuff you put up with, starting with $21 an hour for operations coordinator, 12 hour shifts, 4 days on 4 days off. 


Not only are there no written SOPs, but management will expect you to conform to their own unwritten "standards" which are based on their own personal preferences rather than industry best practices. If something isn't done to their liking, they will pick apart the work instead of supporting and encouraging. Promotions are done with partiality without any consideration to work results, experience or skills. The pay is well below industry standard, yet the work expected is twice that of what a similar position in a competitor would demand. Pay issues are frequent with people not getting paid correctly or on time.
This airline once had a lot of promise, but until the few bad apples in middle management are gone, things will not change. If you are a seasoned professional and are seeking a workplace with structure, fairness and respect, STAY WELL AWAY from Lynx Air. 

Training was a joke and did not prepare us well. Instructors were not great at covering material, with some points in the Cabin Crew Manual not even being taught in class. There was constant confusion while flying, with no one really knowing the correct answer. Good luck even getting a response from management when emailing with questions.

Pay was horrible. You get a day rate of 129$, and consistently work 12+ hour days, resulting in less than minimum wage (for a safety focused job). I rarely worked a day under 10 hours. They still do not even offer flight benefits which would help offset the low pay.

Schedules were constantly getting changed, and never once put out on the correct day. I consistently had issues with pay being correct as well. They have horrible employee turnover, and lied in the interview based on what you told them you were looking for. Great coworkers were the only reason a lot of us stayed around so long.

Lynx was an incredible experience with amazing and talented people with passion and drive. 
I was a flight attendant and I landed behind the scenes in the office and Lynx has been best place I have ever had the pleasure to work at. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Airlines are always stressful, but the people made it fun. I learned so much and in either position I always had a team to work with striving towards a common goal. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Strong team mentality, supportive, fun, no micro managing, passionate, and departments full of brilliant people. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Work hard, laughter, supportive, friendly, I loved going to work every day and I am going to miss it immensely.

Lynx air is a terribly run and managed company that doesn't care about its employees. Lynx does NOT offer staff travel benefits, meaning you must pay full fares to fly on your own airline. Lynx puts all their crew at 1 star airport hotels with nothing around for food or beverage. They give you an Ipad for work but then they charge you for it every month and they don't let you download any apps on it, only company approved. The pay is the worst in the industry. Cabin crew don't last longer than 3 months here for a reason. I could go on and on and on but I don't have the time because they are making us work 16 hour days 18 days a month. Seriously... RUN.

Company can work you up to 18 hours on a day rate and often won’t pay you overtime that you’ve earned. Typical shifts are 11-14 hours in the air most of the time, including all hours of the day (3am starts, 11:30pm starts etc) and time changes based on overnight location. Hotels are often not booked and ready, making the long days longer. That being said, flight and medical benefits are good, and you get to stay overnight in new places and explore (given enough time during your layover) which is a huge perk. Great job if you like crazy hours, new places, and constantly meeting new people. 

This company is garbage. Training does not set you up for success. Management doesn’t care about you. Many long days and the pay is the same if you work 5 hours or 14. Sometimes you make less than minimum wage. Anyone that can get on with another airline leaves shortly after and with good reason. The only good thing is that if you want to get your foot in the door you’ll get hired, because they are so desperate they will literally hire anyone. Some crews miss basic safety regulations during work putting customers at risk. Stay away.

Employers ask what makes you unique for a number of reasons. They want to know that, beyond your skills that'll get the job done, you'll be able to bring something new to the table and that you'll fit into the company culture. Sure you can do the job, but can you do the job in a way that inspires those around you or that brings new skills to the table to share with others?  Will you get along with your teammates and be able to challenge and uplift them?
Employers want to know that you're not only a good candidate for the job, but that you're an ideal candidate for the job.

I would avoid working for them, there are better choices out there if you want to work in aviation. Management couldn't care less about you, there are no health or flight benefits, and the pay is extremely low. There are some good coworkers, but a good number of them literally do nothing, or they don't know their stuff; and the vast majority gossip about other co-workers. I would skip applying and go for another company. One that you can actually make a living working for!
