Lyons Landscaping Ltd.

I started with Lyons as an equipment operator for the snow season and just did what everyone should do, the best job I possibly could all the time. 

I moved up quickly with Lyons because of that mentality. There’s a lot of room for growth with this company, so if you show that you’re serious about doing good work and going beyond what’s required you can make a very good living here.

I went from an operator in the winter to a landscaper in the spring and I did that cycle for a year, my second season I took on a gig, completely remodelling the Smither Main Street which quickly sent me into a foreman position just simply taking initiative to do more and take on responsibility. I carried the foreman role through another landscape season before I started my own business in a completely different field but I wouldn’t hesitate to go back if I needed to. 

All in all a great company to work with, lots of great people and the work is rewarding, seeing a bare lot turn into someone’s dream is a fun experience. 

I still work with lyons through the winter as an operator plowing snow, highly recommended company.

I worked there for a month. They preach fairness to all there employees. I had a foreman that was very rude and screaming and swearing at me. I am a experienced heavy equipment operator and labourer and he treated me like complete garbage. I jumped on a machine once on site and he asked what the F ck I was doing even though is says on my resume I am a experienced operator. 

I then talked to the operations manager and asked to switch crews and they told me that they don't do that and that we needed to have a chat with the foreman and I. I agreed to the chat and it went ok from what I could tell. I was then pulled into the HR office and the foreman was there and they let me go cause I made brought forward that they're foreman was treating their employees like sh t.

They do not treat their employees well I would not work there. 

After a couple seasons at Lyons Landscaping, I can say it’s a great place to grow if you’re looking for hands-on experience in the landscaping industry. The team is supportive, management is approachable, and there are plenty of opportunities to build new skills and take on responsibility. The work can be physically demanding and the busy season is fast-paced, but the culture makes it rewarding, and hard work is always recognized. At Lyons, you’re not just doing a job; you have the chance to build a lasting career in landscaping.

Working in a busy dynamic position it the people you work with day to day that really count. Are they dedicated, uplifting, enthusiastic? My immediate team regularly met all these so my day to day was great.  Opportunities to learn new skills, suggest and implement new strategies was supported and was a rewarding part of the job. Meeting the challenges presented by the job such as managing information streams in a cohesive, timely way can be stressful. 

Great work environment alot of positive vibes and encouragement!! Learned  a lot about how to deal with how to deal with customers and employees.. Really had a team feeling kind of place whether it was landscapers helping garden center employees or vice verse.. Great place to work in my experience with them!!

I worked for Lyons for a few years as a Landscaper. I came in with very little experience and the team was more than willing to train me on landscape installations and operating.
Everyone helps each other out and feels like family. I was sad to go but ended up having to relocate with my family.

Working here has been a very positive experience.  The team is supportive, professional and always willing to lend a hand when needed. Management does a great job of creating a respectful and organized work environment,  while also encouraging growth and development.  

I really have enjoyed all my roles at Lyons Landscaping. I get to be a part of a team that cares. The work is varied, and keeps me challenged. I am always learning something new, and whenever I need help there is always someone to assist.
I really enjoy the team culture that Lyons Landscaping provides throughout its departments. 

I really loved working there and The hardest part about the job was shovelling rocks
The most enjoyable part of the job was trimming the flowers
What I learned was how to train flowers and stock corn and other stuff

Working for Lyons was a fantastic experience overall, from management to work ethic, and always putting safety first. Fair treatment and a positive environment made it low stress, and knowing there was room for professional growth was very motivating. Thoroughly enjoyed my time.
