Lyreco was a fast-paced, time-sensitive operation.  Warehouse associates had to be able to move extremely fast, be accurate and very flexible.  

If you could work at the pace Lyreco expected of you, you could work virtually in any warehouse or production assembly environment in Canada or the United States.

Lyreco has world-wide operations and the core principles are the same around the globe.

Office products ordered via online ordering system.  Payment is via online systems or arranged with a sales representative.

Working at Lyreco will keep you fit.  I lost 20 pounds working there.  If you survive the first few shifts, you can survive working in any warehouse environment.

* A typical day would see me visiting 22 clients. I would visit a mixture of active, inactive and prospect clients. Plus I would do a minimum of 5 cold calls a day
* I learned and perfected a 25 day call cycle and sales methodology process
* Management was exceptional supportive in both work and personal lives
* Co-workers at Lyreco where some of the best that I have ever meet
* The hardest part of the job was working 2-3 hours in the evenings  
* The most enjoyable part of the job was visiting my clients on a 25 day call cycle and meeting new clients

A typical day runs from 9 am to 6 pm and that depends on how busy the day is. all orders must be done before anyone can leave. generally it is not strange to have some days that run from 9 am to 8 pm. that is the hardest part of the job, to be able to focus and not make any mistakes during these long days  is a great learning experience that will be valuable in all my future work.

A typical day involved reviewing the P&L statements to see what events happened the previous day and to ensure that all entries were coded and posted correctly. 

Review all employee expense reports prior to processing to ensure that they fell with in the company policy.

Set-up and post all journal entries and accruals for the accounting department and the payroll department

While at Lyreco it started off alright and then became one of if not the worst place to work that I have ever been at.The manager at the tome was terrible and I mean terrible constantly berating staff for no reason at all,writing people up for made-up/false breaches of work.The only bright spots were most co-workers were very nice as well as the supervisor.

There was a lot to tackle in the marketing department.  I have learned the "ins & out" of email background (cache).  The co-workers were super nice to work with.  I did not find the job hard at all.  The most enjoyable part of the job?  a very positive atmosphere all around.

if everythig planned ahead then no surprises should ruing your day, even small disruption dealt with right attitude, most of the managers and supervisors are knowlegible and educated, company runs under ISO parameters with heavy focus on quality and assurance 

Very well structured company. You will be recognized and awarded for your hard work. Value their employees. Geat training program and a great place to learn. Innovative.

All in all I loved my time at Lyreco because the people were great to be with. Unfortunately too many mid and senior managers and members of the senior leadership team were poor leaders who, in my opinion, failed their teams in critical ways.

10-15 Cold Calls Per Day.  Customer Visits in the afternoon.  This was my first sales job so I learned a great deal.  Management changed a lot at this company but was in general good.  It was a good place to work.  People were helpful and nice.  The hardest and enjoyable part of the job was learning new skills.
