The Metro Toronto Convention Center is a excellent place to work as they provide services to cater to large events.

A typical day in the purchasing department, includes accepting internal requisition from various departments and then turning these requisition to purchase orders.

Learn that time management and paying attention to product detail is very important. 

Co-workers consisted of a team of 3 individuals, therefore it was a great place to work at it was easy to communicate with all members in department. 

Hardest part- Managing internal requisition during rush hour periods, from over 50 departments. 

The most enjoyable part of the job includes meeting various people from events.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Cleaning department is not very helpful, during my 6months and 2 wks there . Finished my probation period . 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management its self . No teamwork . They won’t help you to make learning easy and at the end of the day , they expect you to learn more on your own . Poor management. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very Racist environment, protect their own people/ not fair treatment to other staff . 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As one of the supervisors, even to cover shift that staff canceled still have to be approved by the manager. Very micro managing department.

Working at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC) has been a positive and fulfilling experience. It’s a well-organized and professional environment that values teamwork, respect, and diversity. The management is supportive, and the atmosphere encourages growth and development. MTCC is known for its strong work culture, where employees feel appreciated and motivated. It’s a place where everyone works together to maintain high standards and deliver excellence. The opportunity to be part of such a reputable organization in the heart of Toronto is something I truly value. Overall, MTCC is a great place to work, offering a stable, respectful, and inclusive environment that supports both personal and professional growth.

Patrolled site to deter theft, Vandalism to Facilities and fire from internal and external sources. Provided customer services, Monitor CCTVs/intruder alarms, and maintain general/egress access to both MTCC Buildings to detour illegal entry. Conduct investigations in regards to complaints/infractions, assessing, documenting findings, making decisions ,proceeding with enforcement or closure of files, patrolling assigned areas on a regular basis on foot, bicycle or Motor vehicle  in regards to in relation to MTCC Property. Wrote occurrence reports and gave witness statements when needed.

A day in the life at the M.T.C. C. C.Doing your daily checks always gives you satisfaction of being ahead of any potential problems before you get the calls.  Going through the work space and interacting with all levels of staff management, contractors and clients keeps your senses sharp in a fast pace environment.  Dealing with calls so they can be resolved quickly.  People can be difficult particularly people in distress.  This puts your skills to the test in deescalating tense or awkward situations.  The diversity of shows and events never ceased to amaze me.

Good place to work if you like a relaxed security environment, the job can be fulfilling at times during heavy crowd control/big events but majority of the time its a lot of standing around and walking/customer service. Its good pay for how little your required to do. The schedule will give you little to no work life balance as its event based so keep that in mind. Overall its a good stepping stone for future goals/careers. I wouldn't make it my end goal though as there is no future career development opportunities, at least not in the next 20 years. Hope this helps. 

Sales Department leadership historically has been a negative culture. Very top down negativity and damaging angry bird reputation. Grateful for other departments that get it and appreciate their staff!  Operations teams work very hard. 
Some exciting events and access to shows.
Central location close to hotels and Sports Centres for guests. 
Event space gets refurbished when run down.

Consist of counting of float responsible for large amounts of cash and merchant transactions. Customer Service and being aware of all guest in the building is a great way to acknowledge all guest. This is a great professional team player environment. Well organized for big events.

All events are a success with the joint communication within all departments at the MTCC.

MTCC is a company that strives to be the best convention centre in the world.  It's the flagship of Canada in that regard, and in turn has a  staff that is knowledgeable and skilled.  In my time there, they preached consistency and excellent customer service, the phrase above and beyond would apply.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Paid holidays when full-time. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Getting harassed by people who had worked there longer and HR doing nothing about it.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hostile and unremarkable. Very stressful.
