Maple-Villa-Long-Term-Care

The Maple Villa is a fun place to work at.Management assures that we properly trained to make sure the residents receive exceptional care(well groomed, nutritious meals,proper medications and exciting games and fields trips  all year round). The family members are treated respect. A typical day at the Maple Villa is getting the residents up for a day full of fun and excitement. The mornings I find it the most difficult when a resident passes away.I enjoy watching the residents participate in the activities such as sing along, spelling B,or getting prepared for a boat cruise. I've learned at the Maple Villa to treat people with respect and hard work pays off.

I loved working at Maple Villa.  I was well supported and felt like family while working there.  I would have no issue putting my parents there if I had too.  The have a small facility but do alot with what they have.  The residents are well taken care of.  As a new nurse; there is always an RN available to help me with my unit.  Management RNs will leave their desks to help out on the units as well if needed.  Management will come on to each unit every morning and greet residents and staff.  It's a just a really good place work.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
The unity among the staff and residents, they work and live like families 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with dementia resident can be tasking

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It's an anti racism environment, everyone is treated and respected well not minding the cultural background 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Its always a good busy day for me.

I love working as PSW at Maple Villa. My team helps me with my tasks. The new administrator is really kind and cares a lot about the staff and residents. I cant wait to go to the new home next year. I will always be dedicated to Maple Villa. It so much better to work here than other home I work at.

I enjoyed working at Maple Villa LTCC - it’s a great working environment and promotes a safety culture.  At Maple Villa I felt valued and supported, especially by my Supervisor who went above and beyond to ensure our team had the resources and encouragement we needed to do our great work.  I’m so grateful to have been a part of such a motivated and collaborative team.  


What I believe I learn ,is how to love the old ones and be patience with them.
The management is very good and coordinated .
The hardest part is seeing your patient you love or like died it hurts.
The enjoyable is when your working and the old patients are happy with you and trying to make a conversation with you and also recommend you the best.


Overall I gained valuable experience that has kept me motivated to be part of the solution to save lives. Despite all the obstacles and challenges that I faced while I was employed at the time. 

The charge nurse is kept busy with reg. duties such as treatments, doctor visits and orders. Managing PSW staff, RPN staff, replacement of staff on w/e and after hours.  Continually short staffed for PSW,s and ALWAYS  short on weekends days and evenings for PSW

Working for MV was good mangament  are  organized and fair to the PSW about shift .MV is the only LTC in Ontario that fallow the rules ..6 residents per PSw


My typical day would be to report and document clients activities, help assist them in clothing, feeding, bathing, housekeeping, ensuring clients were safe
