Mircom Engineered Systems is a good manufacturer of Fire Alarm Systems and Field Devices. Their Construction Department does a very good job supporting the Electrical Contractors who purchase and install their Fire Alarm Systems. The verification technicians are knowledgeable and ultimately get the job done properly and to Code.  Their Preventative Maintenance Department is not very well organized so their customers suffer as Annual Tests and Inspections are not scheduled and completed on time. In fairness, this may have improved somewhat since I left a year ago.  A contributing factor to poor customer satisfaction in the Preventative Maintenance Department results from too few Account Managers handling too many accounts. Not enough attention is paid to each account to insure that the customer's needs are met in a timely and professional manner.

I worked at Mircom for over a year and within the year of me being there I had numerous horrible experiences. First off if there is a issue with a co-worker harassment or bullying don’t expect anything to be done. These issues are just swept under the rug and ignored. There were at least 4 issues I witnessed or had to deal with personally and nothing was done. The management team is a joke. Nothing is ever done and do not expect to see your manager or supervisor every week. There were times that I did not see my supervisor or manager for two weeks. The pay is a joke.... I went into my interview being told one salary price and being handed a contract with a different amount noted. The amount difference was by almost 12K less. Needless to say working for this company was the worst experience I’ve had working for anyone.

At first glance, Mircom would appear to be a great place to work. It has great stature in the field of Enterprise-Wide Fire Alarm systems and the workplace culture generally seems ideal. As an electronics professional, I learned a lot about this specific branch of electronics while employed there as a quality assurance analyst.

What I also found was underlying nepotism; being a self-confessed "Family-Owned Business" they put close family members in key positions of authority regardless of capability. While a few were actually quite capable, others were not, especially in upper management roles.

The pay for those lesser ranking is generally less than the industry standard.

a bit stressful but it's the nature of the work. Hard working bending and lifting and work hot when its summer timer

8 hours shift with 2 coffee brake and one hour lunch break this is great

My Journey with Mircom has been marked by continuous learning and Recognition. I have watch the company make positive change and shift over 7 years to be continuously improving.

The people make Mircom a good place to work. Almost everyone is welcoming, courteous and fair. However, the opportunity to grow and develop one's core competencies is rather slim - people continue in the same role for years. To me this seems to be the result of a disconnect between the people and the management - not ideal when younger people join the company and expect a more modern workplace culture.

Never a dull moment. Which is why I like working there.

This Job opportunity happened as result of merging my last company to this company. Service and operation were in same line and running smoothly. Employees working to gather with given policy. management had strong relation with employees. hardest part of the job was cooping with new product and that got resolved with provided training. There is good opportunity to grow.

Company prefers to hire cheap labor, all material goods are manufactured on site which makes you wonder.... Instead of outsourcing in the third world, they import the THIRD WORLD!! Feel sorry for the ones who has stayed with company for so long and now have to deal with the migrant workers. If you want your soul detached from your body - your only one step closer by working here...

Very challenging work environment with a lot of new technologies.
Production and development are located in one building which makes very good  interaction and communication between production and development teams
