What is the best part of working at the company?
Management has declined in providing clear direction and adequate support to employees. There is a high level of micromanagement, with minimal compensation increases despite years of service. Additionally, employee feedback does not appear to be acknowledged or acted upon.

The process for handling a single order is overly complex, involving multiple steps and several team members. Much of the workflow is outdated and manual, and would benefit from modernization and process improvements.

The most stressful part of working at the company is the inefficiency in processes and lack of clear direction. Tasks that should be straightforward often involve multiple steps and several people, making the workflow time-consuming and frustrating. Additionally, the high level of micromanagement and limited support from management adds pressure, especially when expectations are unclear and employee feedback is not actively addressed.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is generally structured but can feel impersonal due to a lack of engagement from management. There is limited communication and support, which can make employees feel disconnected and undervalued. Management tends to be distant, with minimal recognition or feedback, contributing to a “cold” atmosphere.

The culture leans toward being task-focused rather than people-focused. While expectations are in place, there is little collaboration or encouragement for open dialogue. Opportunities for growth, feedback, and team connection appear limited, which can impact overall morale and job satisfaction.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day feels repetitive and demanding, with a heavy workload focused on processing orders that involve too many manual steps and multiple handoffs between team members. Tasks that should be simple often become time-consuming due to outdated processes and inefficiencies.

There is constant pressure to meet deadlines, but limited support or clear guidance from management. Communication is mostly task-focused, with little opportunity for meaningful feedback or collaboration. As a result, the work can feel isolating and monotonous, making it difficult to stay motivated throughout the day.

As a family business, there is a lot of passion from the owners. They want to be involved which is great, but it can inhibit your autonomy.

I worked less than three months and it was difficult in its own right. The marketing manager was nice enough and had an understanding of my role as a digital marketing coordinator. However, the challenge came when other members of the organization were demanding quick results which are not possible based on external factors outside of your immediate scope. A larger issue also comes from repetitive team meetings, which eat valuable time that can be used to working on projects or coming up with new strategies.

The part that was the most frustrating was the lack of transparent communication. I was never spoken to directly by members who had concerns about my work. I had to hear things about myself indirectly or weeks later from my marketing manager. This is incredibly unprofessional in any work setting. Receiving critical feedback about what you are doing wrong or how you can improve in that manner is important. What is also important is asking questions from both sides to get a full scope of the situation and making an objective assessment. Not being given the chance to speak for yourself id difficult.

In the end, I was let go of my position because of "financial concerns" from COVID-19. During the discussion, I was explicitly told by multiple members that it was not based on performance issues, but financial struggle and that down the road I could be reinstated. However, two months have passed and my position was reposted without my notice, and at less pay.

If there were too many issues with personal performance, and I was let go for an outlined number of reasons, I could understand. I could improve my skillset and there would be transparency. That was not the case. I was told a false reason for my termination and left with sadness and disappointment.

Overall, it was a bit of a sour experience. I did not appreciate my time there, and while there were some very nice people in the organization, it did not outweigh everything else.

This company is more about making money than it is about caring for its staff. 

The turn over of staff was INCREDIBLY high. MANY people stating their mental health was compromised and improved after leaving Moe's. (Heard this from many people who left, and experienced it first hand too)

HR talks a good talk, but would not follow up when they said they would. Would make you second guess the conversations you had with them due to non-contact afterwards.

Pay is low to mid range for all types of positions - pay is not comparable to the workload and responsibility given. 

When starting wage is raised, they would not increase current staff wages to compensate. Therefore, someone who was just hired last week could be making the same as someone with good performance who had been with the company for more than a year. 

Also, when yearly pay raises were conducted, some people were just raised to the new starting pay wage and far less % than inflation at the time.

Often heard comments from staff that owners were intimidating, I felt this as well. They wouldn't talk to you unless they had to and if you happen to be walking past maybe they would say hello or nod. They were distant and cold. 

Workload was extremely high for management, unreasonably so. Tons of meetings that would take up a lot of unnecessary time. Therefore, even harder to get the tasks on hand completed in a reasonable time. 

They would often make critical policy and process changes without notice and without consulting subject matter experts. Which would often cause severe issues with internal systems and cause customer dissatisfaction.

Hard to move up in the company, some have been lucky, but not so much in Customer Service. Lack of professional development for current staff to grow with the company. 

Workplace culture is toxic. 

I worked with some amazing people, and that is something I will miss. But management and upper management needs to consider their actions and how it affects staff. Lack of empathy for sure.




At first Moe's seemed like a good company to work for. In the first year they raised the starting wage to be in line with the industry standard. Later I learned that the starting wage had been raised again however this time existing staff members were not told about the starting wage increase. We could see on Indeed that the advertised starting wage was higher than before and close to what I was earning after 2 years. Management confirmed to me that the starting wage had actually been raised to higher than what was advertised and was just under what I was earning after a "performance based wage increase" the month prior.

Despite asking in my review how I could improve and just being told to "keep doing a great job" I recieved a small "performance based wage increase" that did not even meet the % of inflation. 

There is no way to advance from customer service unless you want to be a team leader. This company would rather hire from outside than help you advance in your career. I can't even count how many CSRs came and gone in the time I worked there. There is little opportunity to learn anything new.

They don't think through policy changes (freight, pricing etc.) before they implement them. You will be told the day before and then management will make several changes and exceptions in the aftermath.

The software is garbage, constantly breaking down with no long term solutions, only ever short term fixes. 

Several contracted sales reps treat the CSRs like dirt and no matter how many times you tell management about it nothing ever changes. 

I liked working remote full time when I worked there however I have heard that this is now no longer an option for CSRs. I also enjoyed making friends with colleagues.


My time at Moe’s Home Collection was challenging and ultimately disheartening due to several persistent issues within the company, especially in the logistics department. Employee turnover is extremely high, and people are often let go without fair reasoning or support, leaving no sense of job security. Career growth is stagnant, internal talent is consistently overlooked in favor of external hires, and there’s little to no investment in employee development.

The workload is consistently overwhelming, often pushing employees to the brink of burnout. Unfortunately, the compensation does not reflect the volume or complexity of the work. Salaries are low, and the yearly appraisals are minimal and feel disconnected from actual performance. On top of that, management lacks empathy and support. Employees are often given written warnings for minor or already resolved issues, and these warnings are kept in their permanent records, which only adds to the toxic atmosphere. There is little to no support from leadership, and communication from upper management is poor or completely absent.

The only redeeming aspect of the job is the support and camaraderie among colleagues. The people you work with are the reason most stay as long as they do, they are collaborative, kind, and genuinely help each other through the challenges. Sadly, this positive dynamic does not extend to management, who seem more focused on control than on cultivating a healthy or productive work environment. Unless significant changes are made in how the company treats and values its employees, I would not recommend Moe’s Home Collection to anyone seeking long-term stability, career growth, or a supportive workplace.

Having worked for Moe's for a few years now I'm confident in saying it is an exponentially growing company with plenty of opportunity across its many departments. I've personally seen the team expand out of our older smaller office space into the new and modern headquarters we work out of now and it's a testament to the teamwork and management across the company. 

The work can be quite fast-paced depending upon the department but the management is welcoming and takes feedback well, appreciating the opinion of employees across all levels. While COVID has had us working primarily from home, the office is a comfortable and functional space for our meetings. Culture is developing but has been difficult with everyone working from home, that being said our holiday parties and lunch and learns have always been a great time to connect with other employees cross-departmentally.

Overall I've enjoyed my time working for Moe's Home Collection and would recommend it to anyone excited to expand their experience and grow with a company devoted to see their furniture in home's across the globe.

A typical day at this company shows how poorly the workplace is managed. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels negative and discouraging. Management is dismissive, overly controlling, and requires employees to report even the smallest actions such as short breaks or getting coffee. Owners do not engage with employees, making staff feel undervalued and ignored.

Employee concerns are regularly dismissed with responses such as: “You can resign; we can always find someone else.” Management rarely takes responsibility for mistakes and instead places blame on employees for minor issues. Any successes are claimed by managers, communication is inconsistent.  Processes are outdated and inefficient.

Morale is extremely low, and many employees quietly plan to leave. The constant stress, lack of recognition, and poor leadership quickly take a toll on mental health and professional growth.

If you are considering applying, be aware that this is not a supportive environment and will likely hinder your long-term well-being and career development.

A typical day at Moes starts in the morning when the Assistant Manager hands you the keys to unlock the back fence, you will have to wait at the front door in the morning until somebody decides to show up for work as they wont give you a key to the building so hopefully you have a vehicle to camp in. I learned that you have to self prioritize and know how to manage your time well. 

Management is on an ego trip, talking down on you and expecting you to fail and waiting for any mistakes or slip ups so they can chastise you at any opportunity.

Workplace culture is cutthroat people will gossip behind your back if not almost to your face and try to get one over on you for personal amusement.

The hardest part of the job is trying to find some space to work as the warehouse is crammed from every nook and cranny with boxes and debris making it hard even to walk to and fro.

The most enjoyable part of the job is there is not really anyone to tell you what to do for the most part and you can pretty much do whatever you want within reason.

The job in customer service is overall easy but the number of steps in their processes, and the number of staff working on orders leave too much room for error. The processes they are sticking with are suitable for a business doing half of the volume they see. Changes have been implemented during my time here, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. 

Office culture is cold and unwelcoming. Upper management has no desire to see individuals grow, or even acknowledge their existence for that matter. They say they’re a family owned company which may be true on paper, but in practice this is an extremely cold & corporate environment. After 6 months, I have yet to actually meet the “family” or be offered any sort of employee review. Growth opportunities are given to external hires, and employee retention is very low. 

If you’re in a pinch, the job is bearable and majority of the staff are friendly and easy to work with, but this is definitely not a place that can help you grow into a long term career. Keep your head down, do the job, and you’ll be fine. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
My favorite part was the people I worked with day-to-day. Unfortunately, this didn’t extend to leadership/management where I experienced a lack of support and connection.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management often plans things behind employees’ backs and isn’t very transparent. When a new hire comes in, it means someone else may soon be replaced or let go. Leadership’s priorities don’t always align with the team’s goals but instead driven by their own interests. A lot of people stay just to pay the bills and keep things going not because they feel valued. Day-to-day work feel like a constant struggle. You end up putting on a professional face even when deep down inside you want to leave. I really feel for the people still there who can’t move on because of how tough things are right now. Sad how this company has become and the owners does not seem to care at all. All they care about is how much profit they make.
