Firstly, do not listen to any of the negative reiviews they're simply not true. For anyone interested in becoming a cable-tech this is a good entry level position. Secondly, they offer extensive training for specific job duties and tools to accommodate these roles. Thirdly, when you've completed your training and on your own, you get to take your vehicle home EVERY day and gas is paid for! Cell phone - paid. To be quite honest the only thing you have to worry about is the people just like ANY other job. If you get off on the wrong foot then it will be hard to fit in. If you show respect and listen attentively then you will create good working relations. Be honest with yourself. If you're lazy or scared of heights OR not good at going in strangers houses; DONT BOTHER with this job. It's a great job 10/10 recommend and this is coming from someone with no prior direct experience. Great company and great staff 

If you want a place where they work you like a slave and never give you any praise then this is the company for you.  I worked here for abit and never once got a rise or even a Christmas gift. They talked about getting rrsp s for about 5 years and nothing got set in motion. Asked for me to travel which I did and had to fight ever time to get meal money and when I did it was the lowest possible rate. Working on weekends for regular pay was also not fun, but owner and supervisors didn’t care as they never had to work them. The pay is piece work and some weeks were ok and when it was slow pay checks were pretty sad, for the amount of work one did. To get a half decent pay check you pretty much had to work 7 days and even then it wasn’t that good.. I would only work here if you want no life, work long hours for little to no pay and dont care if management treats you like a low life...

I currently work for New Horizons Communications. The management and administrative staff are awesome. Tons of independence as you are deciding how to plan your day and make all the decisions yourself on the worksite. Says 35000-50000 a year but I know from experience that making 60000 is easy if you take the odd extra job and make the odd sale. Winters slow down and summers are busy but it all balances out. Company vehicle is a plus as well. Definitely lots of opportunity to train for other roles in the company. In the telecom industry thats always something to take advantage of.

Majority of training is through online courses and shadowing, I found alot of the co-workers had issues with each other. Decent workload and a mix between service and install calls. Working on the aerial lines during the winter is brutal so dress appropriately.


Company does not care about emplyees, very greedy company. Working conditions are not the greatest. Not provided with top of the line safety equipment. just a terrible company to work for. Pay is unacceptable, employer said $50,000 to $60, 000 or higher. Impossible to achieve these types of pay.

no worth working for will promises employment and lay off once busy season is over.moved here from another province only to be laid off.
moved my family including my two children only yo be left out in the could.this company promises 35 to 50 thou a yeare but more like less tn $120 a day, good luck if you work for them.

Really enjoyed working for this company, only con is they get their product from eastlink and eastlink isn’t that reliable at getting them the product needed. Management was kind and understanding and everyone helped each other to make sure everyone got done at a reasonable time

You work independently but still end up being part of a greater team doing all the work in the valley. It is great for independent people and visually competent workers. Must be able to conceptualize. 

Great team, management and income potential. I've been in the industry for over 10 years and this a great company to work for. Benefits, company vehicle, phone and an amazing admit team for support. 

Not bad could use better piece ratesManagement is good sometimes hard to get a hold of job itself is great love the work meeting new people all the time.
