Few disadvantages comes with it : is that your on a 6 month probation period and sometimes management can’t seem to get you past that. I didn’t have any chance for advancement . I Done my best but it seems like you have to kind of suck up with the management/ full time employees , etc or they won’t advance you. It’s a hard company to get hired on part or full time. The hours wasn’t very good also as a causal worker. Other than that it was a amazing job. I loved working with the community and customers . Just be prepared to be let go before probation period for any little mistake. They write you up on everything you do wrong and get the part time / full time employees to watch every move you make. Another disappointment was that they will not refer you to another liquor establishment if you leave or will they give you a reference. Be prepared to get hauled in the office every 2 months for a scolding on things you done wrong while in training. I must say training is good but you can’t make any mistakes. Also I been a cashier for months and they never got me to do anything else . Other casuals had different tasks to do but like I said they play favouritism there. Good luck

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Constant abuse from customers and poorly trained managers with 0 leadership experience or skills. No flexibility in scheduling and lack of compassion from managers and HR department for any disabilities or equity/diversity related issues. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic! Managers lack real leadership skills and have a very “I struggled so you have to struggle to” mentality. I worked in 3 stores and all the same toxic culture. It comes from head office down so pretty much unavoidable. Also constant abuse from staff and even reported my
Manager for bullying along with other staff members and nothing was ever done about it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Some of the workers are amazing but the union is weak, most managers are insufferable, and the head office in unison are bullies and useless. Trying to move ahead is very discouraging

Work load inequality.  Shift requirements.  And trying to get time off

Highly stressful and not very professional. Extremely heavy work, not enough workers. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Overworked from unloading the truck, auditing a pallet to putting massive amounts of alcohol away with out the labor needed to do so, constant running for cash and helping customers and being forced to ask everyone at the door for ID

The NSLC is the best job I have had. I never thought I would be getting paid as much money as I am as a person who has never gone to any secondary education. The people I work with are incredible and they do make you feel part of a team. At least at my location. Breaks and Lunches are fantastic and long. I would say the only downfall is moving up in the company. It is the typical government process that has not been updated in years. Testing and interviewing for what you already do. It stinks, but once you get there, and keep trying, you will the benefits are very good. Overall, great place to work, I would recommend. 

The management in the distribution center is downright terrible, the moderate pay is not worth waiting for years to have the possibility to become a part time employee or have the mundane tasks you will repeat daily actually change or be engaging. In the few years I have been with the company I have seen my own management and supervisory team stupe to absolutely rediculous levels with how they handle employees that in their eyes do not envelope the KORE values of the company. If you are young and trying to start a career that can truly benefit you and not waste time, do not apply.

The work place was fine if not entirely engaging with layout and design. Coworkers were friendly and caring, management not so much, was not impressed with dismissive attitudes and inability to inform on problematic areas. Was working fine until I was brought in right at the probationary periods end and told I was not working for the company despite putting them first in priority and showing utmost loyalty to them. If you're going to apply just keep in mind it will be temporary in the short run.

There is no best part. Unfair pay to casuals. They do as much as part time workers. Big pay difference. Should not be on call shifts. They expect us to sit by phone waiting for a call

It's not stressful but you are expected to keep busy

Depends on who you work with. Great working coworkers make  work environment good

Cash and stocking shelves. Customer service

It's straight forward, and neat & clean. Job responsibilities are easy.

Co-workers that think they need to tell you what to do.
Very, very low wages, thanks to the Union.

There's a group of friends that formed a click. If they don't accept you, they get rid of you.

Cash or floor. When on floor you assist customers and put out stock.

The pay was fantastic. But putting up with management was horrible. They get paid up the wazooo and they let it go to their heads. Some managers are nice but two out of the three I ran into were terrible. The type that didn't like you for no reason (honestly, all my co-workers said I was a great employee and customers regularly complimented) and then do whatever they can to keep you from moving forward. Jump through hoops to move forward in the company.
Casuals work weekends and nights.
Part timers work weekends and close.
Full timers work week days and on week or nights with one weekend a month often.
Pay was the best part.

Most of the staff was good to work with but there is high turnover.

Pressure from the manager at the time to unload and stock as fast as possible.

It's a very corporate environment so you're always mindful of that.

As a casual, I mostly got called in on truck day to help stock shelves.
