overall i enjoyed my time working for this company , i would still be working here if it wasn't for a life opportunity i had to take advantage of which included moving to another province. my day started at 5:45 am which included some physical activity unloading UPS freight from a truck then loading the freight ( boxes and packages) onto my truck destined for vulcan county in alberta. i would be on the road by 7:20am and drove anywhere from 350-450 km per day which i enjoyed, and would be back anywhere from 1:30pm to 3pm depending on how much i had to deliver that day.  i met lots of people and developed a friendship with my regular customers i would see everyday.  The management team were fair and respectful and very approachable.  i would recommend this company if you are a DRIVER. and i emphasize DRIVER, meaning being on the road 8 hours a day everyday.

The one drawback and complaint i have is my safety concerns were not taken seriously by management in my opinion. the winter driving conditions on my route were very dangerous and the suggestions i had to mitigate chances for possible accidents on slippery highway roads were not implemented. They opted for ECO boost vehicles instead of AWD vehicles for their long distance fleet which was a huge mistake. Drivers in winter get stuck 2-3 times a week in heavy snowfall while other drivers in Fedex or Amazon AWD vehicles cruise past.  also they did take any steps to add weight to the rear of these vehicles to reduce sliding or improve traction on winter days. But summer/spring driving was just fine. overall i would recommend this company and enjoyed my time there.

This company is a complete disgrace. Fort Mcmurray branch’s manager should be replaced. Long and hard work days. Unsafe practices (no incident reporting,No ppe, NO DRINKING WATER SUPPLIED TO WORKERS. )Many of us feel no appreciation to us. Unsafe environment/equipment, vans aren’t maintained..heating issues,bald tires. No cell phone provided to workers, have to use personal.No time to have a lunch without feeling pressured or being checked up on. Gossip and other employees thinking they are the boss.  Went through ALOT OF STAFF, approx 20 ppl quit in a 5 month time frame .. for a small company the moral is disgusting. 

The ladies at the front counter and a few of the other drivers were the only reason I stayed as long as I did, felt as if they cared for everyone there.

I love the job for the most part, and the people I work with, but the company will not give you the resources you need to do your job in the winter. They'd rather spend hundreds on tow trucks to the point they can't pay for it anymore and you're left to figure it out on your own, than just give us a shovel or some kitty litter for our vans so we can get out. The tires on these vans are awful, no 4 wheel drive, so if you wanna work here, you better be prepared to lug packages through a bunch of deep snow in the winters. We've been asking for years just for something to help us get out of a bad spot, even had meetings where they asked if there's anything we need, and it's the same every time, shovels or sand/kitty litter, anything, but we get nothing. Every. Time. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Independence. They trusted you to do your job and understood the importance of a mature person taking responsibility for their daily route. And they let you do that. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Weather conditions unexpectedly would make driving difficult and sometimes can cause you to lose a days pay. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Depends on which location you are working at. The one I as at I experienced a good manager and teammates…

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Get organized, Work hard, until job was done

You would spend roughly 2 hours in the morning sorting and loading packages.
Then hit the road delivering packages on your route. 
Support was always available, management WAS spectacular.
However when good people get tired and move on, the need to fill a position overrides common sense, and pillars begin to crumble.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Great people out there from CEO up to manager and co worker you will treated as family. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Honestly i never experienced stressful part working this company 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Equally treated and flexible time

wouldn’t recommend to a dog. rather work at a fast food place then work there. if you don’t get work done in a timely manner your fired or threatened to be fired. if you find another job and tell them they will either lie about the opposing company and tell you that you’ll never get hired by them again 0/10 would not recommend

This company is one of the worst companies I have worked for. The management is extremely unprofessional and expect you to work like a dog with no benefit.

It is a dead end job with refusal to give you pay increases. They put out snacks in the lunch room once every few months which is intact damaged freight that cannot be used and act like it's a reward.

lots of rooms for growth internally if committed to an overall grow to see the company succeed. I started as a driver in 2016 and have jumped through multiple growing roles. If you show you care for the company the company will show it cares for your commitment and respect.

Hired on with Black Dog courier , told had nothing to worry about , they would love to bring me on board . Before my scheduled shift to begin with the company took place , received an email to take care we have nothing for you .
