The OCS gave the contract to a company that allows the security staff to treat the warehouse staff like prisoners rather than employees. If you like to be yelled out for just following the orders the security guard gave you, this is the place for you. Oh and did I mention in front of the entire staff as we were leaving for lunch. They are rude and harassed me almost every time I had to leave for breaks. And the guard that harassed me was trying to intimidate me. He picked the wrong chick. No one deserves to be treated that way. We live in a free country. We are there to do a job, not be harassed and intimidated every time you have any contact with them. Shame on the Ontario government for giving them the contract and shame on the contractor for allowing bullying by the security staff.

First of all the management here have no clue , they hire people with no experience that are expected to run teams of people , the whole place is a shambles so much is expected of you with no training and no help from your Team leader . This job role was a waste of time I was there for the experience only and the company was getting worse as time went on , so many changes constantly happening staff have no say whatsoever! So no one would ever bring up issues to management due to this reason , people would just leave the company on lunch etc and never come back. You are just a number at the end of the day to them . I wouldn’t recommend anyone to work here due to the mentally stressful time I had working here . I have nothing positive to say about this place and it’s basically a call centre however they don’t put that in the job description !!

Not really OCS , mainly Atalian Servest- The management here have no clue , they hire people that are expected to run teams of people  (whole contract) with no training and no help/ support from your Manager. Takes up to 1-2 weeks to get simple answers... Non existent people skills from manager's. 
An expectation you will stay behind to finish tasks without any extra pay. Any pay discrepancies are not dealt with and Manager could not care less about their employees, doesn't even answer questions or does checks, just tells you where to send an e-mail to and ask, to which reply comes back "to contact the manager"...  At the end, after all backwards and forwards messages/ e-mails, you just leave your hard earned money as "a present" to the company- every little helps!!!

a typical day at work: get to work and meet with the team. fill up trolleys, and separate to each persons area. Cleaning day to day includes wiping surfaces, emptying bins, cleaning sinks and toilets and mopping floors. The area manager does occasional visits but most work is done under a supervisor. The team is only made up of four so it is a casual working relationship because you get to know each other so well. The hardest part of the job is that it is not a good time to work (4.45-8.45pm) and it is very hot in the surgery. The best part is the closeness of the team.

Management are apathetic and arrogant.  There is zero communication and trust.  
Your every move is criticised, they track which doors you pass through with your badge to make sure you're working efficiently.
The atmosphere is very impersonal and corporate: you're spoken to like a school kid, people think their better than you and tell on each other for not working hard enough.
It's all about rules, paperwork and procedures, not people.
Whatever you do, don't work for OCS, there are plenty of other cleaning and catering jobs out there.

This company don't give you the proper training unless you ask for it, then they fire you when you 'miss things' or don't do a good enough job! They also tell you to speed up all the time! 
There is also a lot of back stabbing between colleagues which all goes back to the area manager!

The management at Atalian Servest are atrocious. They often do not respond to your calls and texts, leaving you working by yourself in the dark. There is very little feedback or support until the client inevitably complains about the standard of work as you are being overworked and not given enough time to complete the job. 

Unbelievable that this company is on the professional circuit. Totally disorganised and incompetent from first contact to interview even before the start of contract. Departments and management do not liase with each other and the company as a whole does not inspire confidence.  All this for a minimum wage job. 

I only did one shift with them as the job was not what it seemed at interview and the workload was unrealistic given the time frame.
I was finally paid for the shift after a lot hassle but they have still not sent me my P45 which I requested weeks ago. 


Everyone was really friendly, felt like I have been working there all along. I also like the part that I work from home 3 days a week and 2-days in the office.
The training opportunity is a welcome development
