The company is poorly managed from the top down, with constant restructuring emails being sent out on a weekly basis, leaving employees feeling unstable and unsupported. It’s clear the organization is scrambling to catch up to its competition but lacks a cohesive strategy to do so.

Customers are misled with costly, low-value services, and buyers and sellers face double charges. There’s no proper fee structure, making it impossible to secure new clients effectively. 

Employees are overworked, underpaid, and stuck in endless unproductive meetings. The lack of organization and leadership has led to massive financial losses, and the work environment suffers as a result. While the office has some great people, the company as a whole is a mess. Would not recommend.

 It’s no surprise the company is losing $200 million annually.

Worked here for 3 years.  This company sells you on the "koolaid" idea that they're accountable and honest to you and will help you with your career, but that's not true. I worked for a number of years for this place and in my time in the Engineering department, I had no proper management, no guidance, no 1 on 1's with my manager. I had to change managers due to internal changes and the new manager created a personal vendetta to remove me from the company. My performance reviews were above expectations, I had no prior warnings, and no performance issues, but since he was clicky with the senior leadership team, he was able to force me out without doing his job. BE CAREFUL WITH THIS COMPANY - THEY WILL CHEW YOU UP AND SPIT YOU OUT.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Good opportunities to move up in the company / Friendly environment - wouldn't recommend if you're still young

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Don't bother working in transport unless you want to be a driver - you'll get paid close to the same as working in the office doing more intensive work. You'll always be expected to do more and the manager is a complete moron. Stay away unless you like taking endless phone calls, sending e-mails, and headaches from constant questions the manager should know the answer to.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Friendly staff and work-events are ok.

For the most part, I am disappointing because I got during my probation. When in reality when you’re under probation, they don’t have to make a case I’ll let you go. It was sad, but I was proud of myself that I decided to take a job as a clerk something I’m never done before and it was very difficult. It wasn’t an easy job. Ultimately, I wasn’t successful, but I would’ve loved to Had a better opportunity to grow. 

Ultimately, I wish I had proper training from the beginning overall, I want to say it is Good place to work you have to find your groove

Worked here for a few years but a very clicky place. The upper management use and abuse staff. They are the leaders of who they should talk to and promote not always on merrit. Company's benefits and RSP matching is a perk. Your usually overworked and under appreciated for any efforts. Any concerns you do bring forward are really not addressed and uaed against you at a later date. Team is far from what this company or employees are about or working towards all about pointing fingers classic management or  employee move to throw a fellow employee under the bus.

50/50 Vehicle inspection and Vehicle Repair. Some miscellaneous task here and there. Learned how to do body inspections. My manager is not the nicest manager you'd meet. He'd shout at team members at times. Although team my team members are helpful and nice. Got to experience working outside during summer time. Not the best. Wouldn't work there during winter. Cause I assume you'd need to work outside sometimes. You get to drive different kind of vehicles. Although only for a short time. 

It was for me a very independent and fun work
enviroment, mostly because I loved to be on the Road and meet a lot of nice people at Car Dealer ships and also a new challenge inspecting Lease returned vehicles in three provinces. Not so great in poor weather conditions, driving conditions.Management
was ok until the work load dropped off an I was no longer needed.After that the most minute mistakes on data entry was played 
out to be a dismissal mistake.

Co workers are nice and benefits are good but unfortunately, everything else  changed when they went corporate under KAR Global brand. What was described when hired no longer lined up with the work load or pay. Working 6-7 days a week to try to hit monthly targets that are completely un realistic. Work life balance disappeared when the target based pay plan came in. Very little control over your own pay.Phone is always on (taking calls until late in the evening). Sales staff became micro managed. It wasn’t a fun experience.

let's get one thing straight, your co-workers are (for the most part) great. everything else...not so much. 3 month rotational shifts, so you may not get a weekend off for 6 months if the cards fall that way. training was no existent when i was there, just under a year ago. for a company this old and this large, one would expect them to at least have an accessible knowledge base to refer to. 

their competition does what they do to a much higher standard.

I am a Senior who worked in the banking industry for many years. I found KAR to be a great place for Seniors as long as they aren't seeking advancement. Management needs an upgrade as too many of such have come up internally which, along with lack of external experience, slows necessary changes. At the time, I was laid off due to the pandemic, I believe  the company was actively working to improve in this area.
