Like all IT, this dept falls under Finance dept, Director of Finance is a cool easy going person. If anything it wold be nice to provide more money to the IT dept. 
Typical Day is mostly waiting around for problems to happen and wait till your help desk staff asks questions or things break. Most of the the time in between the job was helping the maintenance guy who is a jack of all trades and severely underpay and overworked. His work alone on the forever failing Septic system and crawling down it is legendary! 
The Culture is amazing. lots of pet lovers and easy going people. You can bring you pet to work too! Big Perk and also one of the most enjoyable part of the job besides looking at the nice looking staff that come and go and then punch out for the day. Perks are also a fully stocked kitchen with fruits, snacks and coffee.

A typical day would consist of cleaning duties, sterilization, etc., in  the mornings, all the while attending to the animals vacating the spaces. Attending to customers, answering telephone, including crisis calls, computer work and organisation skills. I began to develop my customer service skills, reception skills, organisation skills, etc. I have great co-coworkers, and we all really worked as a team. 
The hardest part of the job was the physical aspect of it but with determination I never failed. The most enjoyable part of the job was the whole environment including co-workers and managing team.

I volunteered twice a week at the OSPCA, Petawawa branch, for almost 4 years. My duties there included walking the dogs, confirming their enclosures were properly secured following their walks and ensuring they were properly treated and kept under control while in my charge. My responsibilities also included caring for the many abandoned and mistreated cats at the shelter. I completed over 200 hours of volunteer work at the shelter. I performed my duties there with little to no supervision and there have never been any incidents with any of the animals while they were in my care.

A typical day at work is always fun-filled with laughter as the staff at this industry are incredibly humorous. You gain such a close-knit bond at this place, you know the staff always has your back and you can rely on them. The hardest part of the job was going home at the end of the day, because you leave such a happy and positive environment.

Working here as a camp counsellor was very stressful and at times humiliating. Our boss at the time would call us away from camp duties in order to clean cat litter boxes in her office. And once I left, it took over two months to get back the money they owed me for buying camp supplies on a personal credit card.

I loved working for ospca, I was proud to work there. Met a lot of amazing people. Only left to get different expierences as an RVT. 

Management could be more helpful and need to listen to their employees concerns a bit more. 

Non Profit Organization operating on donated funds. Long work hours.  Organization is passionate about animal welfare.  Most employees spend multiple hours donating their time.

Great place to work if you want to help animals find their forever homes. 
Great coworkers and management was easy to talk to. Loved working with the general public and helping people learn better pet ownership skills. 

Management are nice people to work for and very caring about their jobs. You learn how to properly sanitize the animals kennels, and any care if needed. (giving pills, for example). It is mainly volunteer work unless you are licensed to work with the animals.

Wonderful place to work. If you enjoy animals and helping them this is the job for you.  The best part of the job is hand feeding the tiny baby animals.
