OUTREACH CALLING

Outreach Calling is a simple job. You are performing outbound calls on behalf of various charities. The guelph office of which I work has amazing management and job culture. The coworkers are all friendly and outgoing, allowing anybody to fit in.

The hardest part of the job is making sales, but if you've got a knack for sales, then you'll be fine. The more experience and comfortable you get with it, the better chance you have for being put into the better campaigns where the real sales are, and if you can rock that and make good cc sales, then you're a shoe in for credit card rousting.

I googled the main charities that we were supposedly raising funds for; American Injured Veterans Foundation and Breast Cancer Recovery Network.  I couldn't even find websites for either charity.  The script says that a minimum of 10% is donated to the charities (but you only tell people that if they ask, and over 90% of people don't even ask).  The manager was constantly using positive reinforcement for sales people, which was nice, but he also told me, "you have to pretend to care, even if you don't".

The job has 3 hour shifts but if you don't do well enough in each houir you'll be sent home for the rest of your shift. Friendly management and co workers but depressing environment and morally questionable charities you're raising money for. If you're really good at selling things to people you'll do fine, but otherwise you will fall victim to the high turnover rate. Variable pay if you do well though (up to 14/h).

Every day I'd come in to work, I wanted to kill myself. Great hours and nice people, but management hates you. Sucks the life right out of you. There is literally nothing worse than stealing money from the elderly, taking people's dinners away just to pay your cheque every week.

Everyday work at the call center is a hustle and it is a real mentally tough one. Although the management and work environment is great, yet one has to manage self and work hard to get the sales target going.

Management is run by a bully. Do not expect to be treated with respect. Also the job itself is extremely boring and repetitive. Please save yourself the trouble.

It was a fight for survival as you tried to make $40 dollars every hour or else you would be fired/laid off. Do not recommend.

Long days and hard work but an overall pleasant work experience with lots of positivity amongst the managers and employees.

Its good for a quick buck if you are a student who has some free time on their hand or are currently looking for another job in the meantime. Good people but terrible job.

I would work there again if I was ever giving the chance to I found it to be very competive and great team work  great work environment  great employees
