This is my opinion of Owen Oil Tools in Standard Alberta. People are let go that don't deserve to be let go while others are kept working. The work environment is clean but the ethics are poor.  Way to much Drama to be able to focus on the job at hand at times.  Office staff don't get along and don't work well with others. Complaints made are not often taken seriously and peoples feelings don't matter.

They preach that everyone is entitled and welcomed to make a choice or suggestion with in the company however your looked at with disapproval or chastised when doing so.  The bullying in the workplace is relentless. It makes it incredibly difficult to want to go to work or even enjoy the work you do. I loved my job and the experience however some of the people who work or worked there made it incredibly difficult to do your job 100%.

Further to that there is no acceptance for ones responsibility it seems all they want to do is point the finger but not step up for their own contributions in bad situations that includes upper management.  I was and still am heart broken to know longer be working there as I intended to continue for many years to come however at the same time I am finally at peace with not be tormented by the staff anymore.

If this is not something you would want yourself or the people you love to be put through its in my best suggestion you don't apply.  The wage is also not worth the effort.

Some good people working there but will make a positions for a family members and will relieve staff members that have been there for over 7 years for no other reason send the fact that someone's brother in law was unemployed. they have a few unrealistic expectationsand we'll put making a $1 before customer service. But like I said, there are afew great people that work throughout the company. It certainly helps to be related to someone in a position of power then you can use your company vehicle for absolutely anything, towing holidays trips to the States anything personally would like and go anywhere but if you're not the relative then you are limited to what you can do. Work and back, nothing else.

It isn’t the worst place to work but you are totally disposable unless you are a friend of the people with the big office. Some employees have been there for a long time and have had benefits reduced or eliminated but the company is hiring new people with zero related experience for only a little less pay than someone with 10-15 years experience. 
Favouritism and uneven expectations is definitely an issue with the management at the Red Deer shop. 

Not a terrible place to work but the leadership seemed aimless and management definitely picks favourites.
You will not advance there unless your nose is way up a butt.

The environment was low-pressure but fast-paced. I took the initiative to keep busy - I voluntarily assisted many areas in their production when my tasks were complete. My employer recognized and appreciated this and I received on-going and intermittent pay increases because of it.

Was a great place to work the team members were very good at helping everyone to learn the proper processes to do the job correctly. Management is excellent and always trying to help any way they can. The GM is the friendliest I have ever met

I have had a good time there. I've managed to accomplish getting my loader operator ticket and forklift sense I started. First Aid as well. They have staff BBQ in the summer as well as pizza day. 
Staff is good to get along with.

Not what you know but WHO you know.. Lots laid off who shouldn't have been while ones kept should of been laid off. I would not go back for this company

Manager is an idiot.
Lots of gossip 
Lots of back stabbing 
No raises for last 7 years 
No chance of a promotion 
Would never recommend anybody working there

Aging facility with aging equipment. Less than average talent reflects the less than average pay. Benefits are average. This company expects more from its employees than it reciprocates.
