If you're needing a way to quickly pay your rent or buy groceries, then this sales job will be waiting for you. They seek people in desperate financial situations, low-income, and lack of knowledge in finances because they need followers and pleasers, not leaders; that's the meat and potatoes of this company. They will hire just about anyone regardless of educational, vocational or personal background. They introduce you to the idea of growth progression and unlimited earning potential in the initial interview and say the only limit to your success depends on how hard you choose to work, they paint your future success which fills you with hope for a big paycheque and food on your plate- I can't lie, they are deadly at convincing and pulling you into the company. Every morning you come in and do a "goal circle" where everyone shares the commission goals they plan to hit for the day. At first this seems energetic and pumps you up, but I quickly realized that it was a type conformity test and indoctrination to make you obsessed over the company and it's success. You are placed on a "team" with others which gives you a sense of welcoming and value in the company, another way to keep you invested in it. If there's not much else going on in your life, which for a lot of people is the case when they start this job, this will definitely start to feel like home for you. They need to work on organization as a whole, often times they we're unable to set up events properly and it costed time (and money). One thing that enraged me was that we we're told to never say we had a "bad event" and to rather take full responsibility of our sales that day on ourselves and deny the circumstances. I cannot take a company seriously that doesn't look at external factors effecting sales, with the wrong person they could have a  breakdown blaming themselves for something completely out of their control, which is irresponsible of the company and demonstrates they don't *really value their employees. Personal information spreads like wildfire, so like any workplace, don't share personal information with anyone. The wages are minimum, but it's possible to make commission if you hit a certain number in the allotted time. If you don't hit that exact number, despite what you HAVE made in commission, you only take home minimum wage. Where does all the money you made in commission go then? You guessed it. This is completely backwards.

Leaders do not work here, only people with a deep need to please and be praised. 

I can't say it was a terrible experience, I did learn sales techniques and pitch variations and they teach principles of marketing and successful habits and I met some very interesting people. If you had a sales job before, you probably didn't need to read to this review to know what to expect. If this is your first sales job, then I advise that you be prepared to be put in a cut-throat and obsessive environment. Be prepared to do and be anything to make a sale. Be prepared to stand in the cold or rain and don't "complain" about it. The so-called "grind" looks a little ridiculous once you aren't on it anymore. That is all I can say.

The whole interview process is designed to make you want to work there, they lie to you the whole time and spin a huge web about taking on a leadership role very quickly, telling you that you get to organize promotional events for 3rd party clients, when in actuality you get to the office at 7, and stand around (because you're not allowed to sit unless you're in a car) until 9, when you drive 2 hours to the actual place you'll be working, at which point you get to stand out in the sun, rain, wind, smoke whatever in a parking lot until 4, when you drive another 2 hours back and get yelled at for not selling enough garbage to seniors who can't afford it. You're lucky to get home by 7 on a good day. Also you're only paid until 5 regardless of how long it takes you to get back. You also don't get gas money for your commutes during the day. Upsides are that you get to feel like hot stuff when you sell $300 of stuff to a person who can't use it, downsides are you don't get to see your friends, family, or have any joy in your life.

Your promised progression, commission, regular working hours and a prosperous future. 
What you get is **screwed over**. 
You come in early to do some cult morning chanting, basically to say you'll make so much money for them. You are sent up to two hours out of the city to sell products and pay your own gas costs. They make sure you don't make your targets by sending you to busy locations early in the week then very quite places at the end of week. Once you progress to the next level you come in earlier and stay later but still get paid basic 9-5 hours. You will go to confreres where there is no food or even water provided. 
It may be possible to work your way up but you have to be a very greedy, self centered person with very little empathy for other people in order to do so. 
I wouldn't recommend by greatest of enemy to work in this place, there are much better, more stable and secure jobs in edmonton than this "company".

I've been working here for quite awhile now and if there's one thing that stands out in my opinion is the daily atmosphere. No day is ever the same and there's always some sort of fun to be had! The team environment presents a chance to build new work relationships that in the end can help you further your career. Management is pretty well organized and always looking for the best solutions to fit the situation. They also always look for input from employees to collaborate on the best strategies. I learn something new almost every day and love all the opportunities for advancement and growth. 

Overall, a pretty sweet place to work!

Working with this company for the past six months has been the best experience in my life. From being able to grow as an individual with confidence and gratitude, too even helping others achieve their goal. I really like how I can show up in the morning and it’s a fun work environment. I’ve not only been able to change my life and others lives working here but I was also able to change my family’s life.

I have been working here for a while now and theres one thing that i love the most is the team aspect. You learn a lot about how to promote different products and training people. Yes its fast paced for sure, but worth it in the end. the hours are full time and weekends are optional. management are laid back but also help you which is nice. hardest part is  being consistent but it takes time and you have lots of help.

My experience with Ocean Management Group was a fast paced problem solving environment with all the guidance needed to overcome any obstacles presented. Everyone had fair opportunities to move up the ladder, what you put into it is what you get out of it.

Marketing requires long hours of hard work and a great attitude and the people I worked with at Ocean Management possessed both of those crucial qualities. In marketing, the skill of being able to remain positive directly correlated to sales, and the workers there were extremely capable.

A great opportunity to develop business skills and create various relationships with in the business as well as out side. The work environment is energetic, and high paced.

Unfortunately had to close but great workplace. There was learning everyday in the morning and the managers were great. Best part of the job was hitting sales goals with the training provided.
