It was good in the beginning, but it turned into a poisoned, negative atmosphere. Threats to your job by management, decisions seem to be made on a whim, no planning or discussion. Some very large egos in the office and shop, that also could not control their temper. Negative, secretive gossip from the Ivory Tower. The branch manager tried to do the best as possible but had little power and was constantly being undermined by the corporates, eventually he resigned. Revolving door of mechanics because the foreman was difficult to work with. The money is good and the equipment is fairly new but incorrectly spec'd for the job. It seemed as though there was a constant problem with getting paid correctly and fairly for the work you did. Also there is the looming possibility that the Red Deer shop is going to close because they have built a new shop in Fort Sask. They had some very experienced, high quality drivers in Red Deer but slowly they all left, now it is just a revolving door.

During interview dave and pat will fill your head with lies that everything is paid safety is priority and they are family oriented trust me stay away in the end i could tell you nightmare stories about them that would probably even lead to arrest being made threatening drivers firing 1 driver after he approached them regarding dispatch telling him to get up at 3am and drive while out of service hours not paying for work done and wait time cutting over while drive around in fancy company vehicles not even base models so one would wonder if you can afford that but then you tell me you have to cut my pay the safety kid as i call him matt aka mr husky k.a. only wants to hear what violations husky thinks your breaking dont mention anything to him about management or dispatch breaking rules you'll be fired immediately way too much to tell just find past and present drivers if they are honest they will tell you.

Oculus is a great,fast paced company to work for.
Everyone is super friendly and it is a very team oriented environment.
I had very little knowledge of the trucking industry before starting and they were amazing in helping me learn all the ropes.
With an ever growing fleet there is lots of opportunity for advancement in all fields.
Management is very fair as well as easy to approach and makes sure any problems that may arise are dealt with promptly. 
They have a great  group in the office, a fully staffed shop to look after all maintenance needs and they strive top ensure that environment remains drama free.
Everyone who works at Oculus takes great pride in what they do and it shows at the quality of the equipment and staff that work for them. Having previously worked an office job filled with drama that made you dread going into work and caused extra stress, the best thing I ever did was make the switch to working for Oculus.

Promises made by general manager that it was a long term employment were drastically shattered just shy of three months so they wouldn't have to pay health benefits.
 Long term employees confirm every busy winter season  they hire many drivers with promises of great pay, benefits, long-term employment - the reality is it's just so they can employ people to make them work as hard as possible, and then dismiss them when they realize that your health benefits will kick in shortly. 
   The work is decent, Dispatch is brutally bad, favoritism runs rampant among Dispatch to certain drivers, and health and safety are online courses only, no actual practical enforcement if it gets in the way of profit.

Oculus Transport has been a amazing experience for me over the last 3 years, like any business Management and Leadership had some hurdles but the current staff has been working extremely hard at sorting those issues out.  I feel the company has a very bright future ahead and some excellent people to work along side. Oculus works with me on all of my personal/family issues because they value all employees and understand that we all have things we need to tend to from time to time.  Its a great place to call home away from home and I wake up in the morning's excited for work,  Career's are not just what they are laid out to be but are what you make out of them!

I really enjoy working here! You work with an amazing team that only set you up for success. Not one thing I have to say that is bad. When you request something to be worked on for your assigned truck, it is done in a quick and productive manor, no questions asked. Maintenance team is excellent. Wages are above average, one of the higher paid trucking companies. Dispatch is very organized and great to work for, again they set you up for success and work with you on any issues. Management is filled with great people who understand your needs and realize that family is first and foremost. Overall excellent place to work!

I enjoy working for Oculus, they are an up and coming company growing fast in the butane/ngl field and after a year and a half here I am still very happy to work for them.  I have a designated truck that is very well maintained whenever I do a reset.  They allow me to maintain a 5-2 5-3 schedule so I can always know when I am with my family enjoying life outside of work.   

I have been at Oculus for close to a year. There are some really amazing people here, from management to the office staff to the yard laborers and shop employees. Everyone gets along and works well together, and most importantly are all willing to lend a hand and help one another. Oculus is a very successful business that is growing and setting up shop all over Alberta. Oculus encourages growth within the company and make opportunities available to those employees who are interested in making a change in their everyday.

no longer pays for days of training online but rewards you with points that could be redeemed but then loses all your packages and doesnt pay your points back, also makes it extremely hard to redeem by implementing new courses and always keeping you under 100% because you cant claim anything if you dont have 100% and three months with a company. Finally, you wont get paid for any of it or for hours of safety meeting and the other waste of time. also finds a way not to pay your waiting even though they sent you there knowing you won`t have room to unload etc...

i have worked for oculus just shy of 6 years. they have taken me in and treated me like i am a family member. have gone through a lot in the 6 years i was there and always made sure to take care of me and have my back. the guys in the shop are all close and the culture is something i have never seen makes it super easy to come to work every day. management is easy to get along with and has a open door policy you can come talk to them any time about anything and they will do their best to work with you. 
if your looking for a great place to work for long term i would highly recommend coming to work here
