What is the best part of working at the company?
The employees that you work with on a daily basis, anyone that isnt management.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Service and parts both being run by the same manager, who used to run cap it and they were bought out by tom. The parts manager has not a clue on how to work in a dealership, which constantly reflects on his employees. Hes disorganized,  lack of communication and incompetent and his incompetence shows. They cant reliably complete work and provide updates because the manager will disregard his own duties as a manager. The best option, is to let go of the manager and start fresh. They dont use their systems to their full potential and despite efforts to improve, a wall has always been up because the managers refuse to change their way of thinking. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The culture could be compared to a war-zone. Sales constantly fights and puts parts and service under fire for their own screw ups. Service will blame each other and accessories does their best to not get involved in either. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Part of your day you spend teting to catch up other people's work while attempting to complete your own. The rest of the day is taking phone calls from angry customers because the manager was supposed to call him back 4 days ago. And its this constant cycle. Constantly dealing with customers who just want answers from their service department.

A typical day is pretty fast paced for me since I do a lot of work in all different departments, so the days usually go by fast and I always have something to do. If I am too stressed I have others who will help me take the work load off my shoulders. I learn new things everyday, from how to do new things on the computer or in different departments, to knowing how to talk to customers or do other things. Management is wonderful, and we have an amazing management team. They normally seem a bit stressed, but they have whole teams that they need to support, on top of taking orders from our boss man and making sure everything is in order correctly! :)
I love all of the management at my location, and I hope to meet other managers from other locations to see what its like there too!
The hardest part of the job is dealing with rude or upset customers. The best part is probably the team as a whole, and getting to learn new skills everyday.

It’s really too bad, there is a ton of potential and ability to move within the group as they own so many dealerships. However, the owner is stuck in the 90s with mentality and refuses to be progressive and forward thinking. 

Applying creativity to further grow the business is frowned upon. 

The only way to move the needle forward is to talk with your feet. At which time, tons of money was thrown at me to try and retain me. However, that’s no way to do business and show appreciation for your staff who keep things running.

The turnover in management is absolutely horrendous. These people are worked all hours of the day, constantly screamed at and belittled by the owner, shown no support from the “regional directors”. It’s embarrassing for not only the staff inside the meetings, but those on the outside who are heading the yelling.

Could not pay me enough to work there again. So glad I took another sales job elsewhere and am in better line to advance my career with a company who actually values their staff.

Stay far, far away.

I took some time to read through all the other reviews of this group, and I'm honestly surprised. I know it's a large company so experiences can definitely be different depending on where you are or who you work with, but in my own personal experience I can say that I really enjoy being with this group. The Ontario management tries really hard to do what's right and I've never had an issue that wasn't resolved immediately. They put effort into the culture and seem to understand how important it is. We can't always pick our coworkers, but on the whole, everyone in each department seems to truly like and respect each other. 

This company will tell you they will give you the world, I worked hard for this company and helped flip the parts and service department. The promises they made to me were all lies and when it was time for them to follow through on their end the acted like I was out of line for asking for a raise after a year. They cut my salary twice, told me they would make me manager as well as three other people, and wanted me to go above and beyond but weren't willing to compensate. Shady group and a waste of time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
There is a lot of autonomy to do what you need to do to sell cars. The Sales managers that were there when I worked there were also good with people so helped close many deals for me and taught me quite a bit. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The owner is a little difficult to deal with but as long as you work hard and do your job well, there are no issues. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
We had a pretty good team. The location is a little difficult and there are too many dealerships for that manufacturer in the area but all in all it was a good place to work.

I have been in an admin management role since Olympic bought out my previous employer and I must say that overall the morale, team spirit, ability to grow and to learn has far surpassed any other company that I have worked for.  The admin and accounting team throughout the Provinces of Alberta and British Columbia, all work very well together and we  lean on one another for support during busy times.  The role in itself is a stressful role, but very rewarding and I feel like I am compensated fairly for the efforts that I put in as I consistently grow within the group.

The job itself would be fine but the upper management and owner are too hands on, to a detriment of the company.  They can't pay their bills on time because the owner (who has 40 stores) needs to review every invoice personally.  The other employees in the stores are great, its the upper management who aren't even in the stores that are the problem.  They want you to make goals (which is fine), but then don't give you the tools to be able to do your job.  For example, how can you hit goals when all suppliers have cut you off due to no payment and you can't order parts to complete repairs to customers boats?

I have been with Olympic Auto Group for over 4 years at 2 different stores and I can safely say it is the best job I have ever had. Fair and respectful treatment from all management, fair and competitive wages and great staff and colleagues. I am happy to come to work every day. I was hired with no experience and they have taught me everything I know, turning this into a career for me. I have been given multiple promotions and have moved up the ladder with this company. I am so happy with this position and plan to have a long and happy future with them.

The top management people are rude and disrespectful to all staff - whether its a manager or other staff - unless you are in the 'inner circle'

toxic, disrespectful, demeaning by top management level

the work is great and the people are great so long as you don't have to deal with the corporate higher ups
