My experience at this company was overwhelmingly defined by poor leadership—both toxic and incompetent. From the top down, there was a consistent pattern of mismanagement, lack of accountability, and a complete disregard for employee well-being.

The leadership team fostered a culture of fear and favoritism. Constructive feedback was not welcomed, and those who spoke up were often marginalized or penalized. Decision-making was erratic and frequently based on personal biases rather than data or collaboration. This created an unstable environment where employees were unclear about expectations and constantly on edge.

Micromanagement was rampant, yet leaders failed to provide clear direction or support. Basic managerial responsibilities—such as setting realistic goals, offering mentorship, or even showing common respect—were frequently ignored. Instead, employees were subjected to public criticism, blame-shifting, and a “sink or swim” mentality that eroded morale.

Perhaps most damaging was the lack of vision or strategic planning. Priorities changed weekly, and departments were pitted against each other due to poor communication and political maneuvering at the top. Talented employees either left or became disengaged, knowing their efforts would go unrecognized or be co-opted by leadership seeking quick wins.

In short, this is not a healthy or sustainable work environment. Until there is a serious reckoning with leadership practices, I would caution anyone—especially those who value integrity, collaboration, and professional growth—from investing their time here.

For a medical device company; which is governed by Health Canada regulations, this company is quite under-developed in terms of their compliance and understanding of Health Canada's guidelines and technical expertise.

The majority of the managers (and employees) do not have any experience working within a regulated industry, and if they do, they are grossly negligent. This leads to numerous non-compliant decisions; leading to errors and the need for recall's, investigations, and rework. Due to the lack of developed quality systems and the lack of knowledgeable staff, corrective actions are often inadequate, and no effectiveness checks - so the deviations constantly recur.

Aside from the lack of technical and Quality System experience, the atmosphere at work is relaxed & friendly.

Sales and marketing staff are treated quite well. although they contribute to many non-compliant actions, and claim ignorance to the guidelines (which is unacceptable if you compare these sales & marketing staff to those in pharma or biotech - who are quite well versed in guidelines and compliance). These non-compliance issues cost a lot of time (and money) to rectify.

Reimbursement is average. health plan and RRSP are sub par

It's a job but some days I can't stand politics of this workplace. Some managers should  not be managers I do my job and like my other coworkers and some people are great but when people lie to get ahead and take credit for work. The worst piece is upper management knows who she is but do nothing because its about being popular.  

Our manager is not to good but I think he's stressful because of president. I don't think there is good understanding of our service area. People keep changing. The company is good, my coworkers are also good but I don't think anyone in upper management cares about people to much. Must change top guy. Its been not so good since I arrived but I hopes it finds a new way to changes and improves. Changed pay but still low

Team essentially composed of seniors. Work culture and team building sessions were uninteresting. Not inclusive at all and selective.

Their expectations almost unrealistic. Giving the fact that you have only 3 days of training then you have to figure all the rest by yourself with a tiny margin for mistake, as tiny as the « post training » and « help » they were offering. 

The salary was decent. But we can’t say the same of their unethical and suspect processes and habits. 

Service department technicians are literally considered as Chattels. Supervisors don't have a clue about how to support and develop junior technicians. Good people leave and most of them try to find another job. They have increased pay which is still below the market rate and yearly increment isn't even half a dollar.  Some supervisors are partial and consider their own people for promotion irrespective of productivity and efficiency

My honest opinions today
-  you say anything or make suggestion your seen as a problem and you can be fired or treated badly
- they make you feel like I should just shut up and do my job and he knows everything - culture is lowest I've seen it and people are so sad frustrated and angry 
-no respect from management just blaming
- so tired about hearing about core values when actions are so totally opposite of words
But I would one day recommend again if they can have the right people running the operation

No going to work is the best part working at the company. real bad politics

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
you are constantly worried about you have done something wrong even if you did the job perfect. they will make you drained emotionally and physically. not worth working there

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
stressed, always stressed. you will carry that stress to your home after work

I just do my job the best I can but if they fix the manager problems we can for sure can improve. If there is lots of constant empty positions it’s always easy to see why.  I have learned a lot and improved my skills but I would not recommend my friend or my brother to join.  Good employee should be protected and promoted not because if you’re liked.

I can take the low pay, high expectations old systems in place and the demanding job but lack of respect in workplace by management is intolerable. They don't even treat each other nicely. People come and go so quickly I hardly know their names. I was excited to join and thought I could stay along time.  Now just more excited to leave.
