My experience working with this company is not a good one. 

From the very beginning, I felt harassment and intimidation on the floor as you are taught your job from your fellow employees regardless of the amount of time they were employed with the company. 

If you are fortunate enough to know a supervisor or part of the management team working at Omex Manufacturing you are guaranteed a position with special offers of advancement, otherwise, if you appreciate being stuck in the same job day after day with no room to learn anything new, then this may be the job for you.

Management is, in my opinion, a poor word to describe the people you are given to approach should you have any problems or questions on the floor. 

If your machine breaks, be prepared to do a lot of housekeeping and standing around while the supervisor tells you that you are not a priority on the floor, or that he is sorry, he is a little short-staffed at the moment, instead of assigning a safe unbroken machine to run until at which time they can fix the machine you are on.

All I can really say about this company is, Hind Sight is 20/20

If benefits are what you are after, as long as you don't mind going through EI for sickness benefits, or short term disability, or having no eyeglasses other than safety prescription glasses covered, your set.

This company makes up accusations about people even after a year of service. They do not stand behind you as a worker and will make up any excuse to not give a worker a raise as stated when they hire you. The Supervisors think that they can make up lies about people and manipulate people. They do not listen to people who are being harassed by fellow employees. They do not have certified trainers to teach you your job, and the supervisors do not have time to teach you your job, they will send you to a machine and expect you to know how to run it even if you have never run it before. instead, they let their employees train people. This allows people to manipulate just what a new operator will learn and will not learn.
They will allow operators to run broken machinery and let you know that the broken machine you are running is not a priority on their list of jobs, instead of moving the operator to a safe machine to run. Overall, if you know your rights and responsibilities as a worker, you will not work for Omex Manufacturing. They treat people like they own you. You are not allowed to talk to fellow co-workers about anything and they stand behind people that they can easily manipulate.

The Work is ok. They are hiring a lot of new employees that don’t even speak English. Training is being done by new employees that don’t even know the job them self.
Very poor quality being produced from this place. Management is very poor they hire friends at people the can control the out come that they are right and all employees cause the problems and not them. As for promotion if you are an employee that is on the older side all you will get is a press or roll line or draw line job. They don’t promote within for team leads supervisors and the hire out side and when they train th that are trained to sit in office and watch u tub and do very little work. This is a good place if you need work experience and move along after 6month to 1 year but I would have to say there are other jobs around and the start pay is the same but the raise are better everywhere else. 


Omex is a good place to work. There is a lot of opportunity to learn and grow here as a tradesman. I was able to learn a lot about robots, automation, welding, and mechanical as well as some electrical while I worked here. They have several kinds of robots so you can get experience on more than just one platform. they have lots of automation to work on which I found great for building troubleshooting skills. I was also able to do teardowns and rebuilds on machines. I learned a lot here and found it very rewarding work. Omex definitely teaches you how to be self sufficient in a lot of areas. They have a lot of very friendly people and I enjoyed working with the rest of the maintenance team very much.

The work is not hard and the Afternoon shift is great. Team leader could use some people skills.  Money is not bad, but with only one raise at your probation end. Was told there was monthly bonus' , but have yet to receive one after a year and a half.  Safety is of the utmost importance, and the plant is very clean. Overtime hours (unless mandatory) DO NOT count towards your probation and doesn't make new employees have the incentive to work it. Not much room for advancement. Very hot in the summer...I do love my job and the people, Omex is overall a good place to work, I recommend it.

It's a Monday to Friday job. Straight shifts and no overtime time. There is no profit share or quarterly attendance bonus. There is no childrens Christmas party or childrens colouring contests for employees kids. There is nothing bringing the employees together or boosting commradery. No quality , saftey or environmental months. Management does not listen to employees ideas for process or procedures, no continuous improvement projects. There is definitely a hierarchy and employees are made aware.

Safe environment both covid and the jobs within.the Omex management has a large customer base that are repeat business because of the quality of the parts assembled or stamped out. The customer base is many and varied from smaller parts and orders to quite large overseas orders. The supervisors are respectful of the Omex workers and the atmosphere is good . The  computer skills needed are minimal and they are give a good amount of time to catch on. The wages aren’t greatest but are on par with area businesses.

I like working at Omex. The people I work with are great and the job is easy. I like that you get a true and consistent paid 40 hours of work a week with the option of voluntary overtime. The company provides benefits and a health care spending account and many opportunities to grow. The lead hands are all nice and willing to help. The straight shifts make it easy to plan childcare and helps with keeping a good work-life balance. The only thing I don’t like is not being able to have a smoke on my lunch.

Repetitive work makes for boring days and even though they have three shifts and a weekend continental crew they still force overtime on you.The pay is okay but should be at least a $1.50 more for all the responsibilities you are expected to have.I don't think management has a clue what work/life balance means,there should absolutely never be a need to force overtime,volunteer only should be the rule.

At Omex the management leaves a lot to be desired plant manager has zero people skills until they need something from you all floor workers are amazing and once you get the hang of things it's easy work just got to put up with poor management who don't say good job or even hi to the employees instead treat you like your beneath them and not like your helping to make their business money by making parts.
