The reason why i rated the salary at 3 stars is because it is minimum wage. Also I rated the job security/advancement at 1 star because it is seasonal work. Everything else is easily 5 star because it is literally one of the best places I have ever worked, with the best management. My typical day at the job would be to merchandise, satisfying any needs any custom needs me to satisfy. I had to deal with customers issues, and this takes improvising in the moment to find a solution. I learned to get strong improvising skills through this. One Floral's Management was very professional, they always made sure we were comfortable which is important to me. I was given frozen treats on hot days like mentioned in the review summary, which shows how they made sure we were happy in our workplace. My co-workers were extremely knowledgeable about what had to be done, and they also knew how to communicate that to me in a positive way. The hardest part of the job was being in the heat all day long because it drains you of your energy. The odd thing is even though that is the hardest part of the job, it also is the most enjoyable part to me is being outside.

Overall I enjoy working at this company.  Our department is rarely asked to work hours other than the 8 1/2 expected each day.

I enjoy the "Employee Appreciation" days where all employees are asked to participate in the games - ie:  "A Minute To Win It", bowling, soccer, and the lunch that is served along with the games.  Also, we are able to get flowers & plants to buy at a lower price than at the stores for our own personal use.

Each day is very busy.  It's over before you know it.  The hardest part of the job is keeping up with the volume of paperwork and phone calls.

I learned the process of getting the bouquets and plants to retail stores is a long one - from buying or growing the flowers to receiving them in-house to wrapping them and packaging them and sending them to the stores.  Very cool!

And management has a tough job keeping all the departments working together to get the flowers out the door.

Your day starts at between 5 and 7 AM and goes until the work is done depending on the season. Slow in the summer finish after 8 to 10 hours. fall is the same. Winter is veg season and you are expected to work a 12 to 14 hour day. The spring is flower season and in May you would work 14 to 16 hours a day 7 days a week.

Average hours over the year 55 to 60 per week.

You work with off shore employees none of which speak English. show and supervising each is key to success.

The best part of the job is when you ship and see all your hard work in the final product going to the customer.

Working at One Floral is exciting and extremely rewarding.  Being as we are in the garden centers for a short season, the work we do must be done quickly and our standards/expectations are high.  The merchandisers take real pride in the work they do. Management is consistently giving feedback and educating. It is also fun. It is really busy May/June working sometimes 6-7 days a week, but because of the short time frame it all works out. I've loved the change to advance in my role from merchandiser to supervisor.  The real hands on, supportive leadership helps.

I have numerous years of experience  and I felt I was utilized for that.  Some expected jobs were given no training as in figure it out...we grew some amazing crops there but at the end of 3 months (probation) they said it wasn't working out?  When I asked why, they wouldn't give a reason...I think they were relying more on the Mexican workers to do the supervisory/ grower jobs and they pay them minimum  wage and expect them to be happy...not impressed...

I enjoyed working for this company. My days were filled with new projects, with a few daily monotonous tasks. Upper and mid-management was supportive in my efforts and worked to mentor me in my role. I supported executive level decision making, fulfilling my job satisfaction requirements. Growth in the company seemed to come to a standstill for me, so there wasn't much room for advancement. However, as the company grows, so will the need for a solid employee base.

On my first day, I was plopped at a cubicle in a corner, not introduced to any of my colleagues, and left alone with no instruction on what to do. My 'Manager' was always in their office with the door closed, and provided minimal to no instruction on what to do - felt as though they were forced to hire a team but wanted to keep all of the work for themselves. Worked there for about 5 months and eventually quit because at that point I still had no idea what I was supposed to be doing and didn't feel like it was ever going to get better. Was a waste of time and my talent.

Management is strict and have high expectations but provide little training as they are too busy and overworked. They are looking for best friends and not people who are qualified to do the work. If they don't like you, you're fired without notice. It's very clicky between long term employees and difficult to find your fit without getting judged. 

It is not the best place I have worked but also it isn't the worst, the Senior supervisor knows what she is doing but the others rely on their status to threat others in a very disrespectful way.

Very long hours but pay was ok, not a good work-life balance with more work during the peak season up to 90 hrs per week

if you want experience in the greenhouse environment it is a good place just forget any free time you may have had

I learned how to take care of plants , how to plant a new ones, how to prepare a good nice bouquet of flowers.
The manger was great guy .
Good workplace culture.
The hardest part of the job was to clean the whole work area before I leave with the other workers.
