Ontario Court of Justice

A typical day would be arriving early to pick up your file for the courtroom I was assigned to for the day. I would be very prepared and drop off a docket to the Judge so he could see what was before him that day. I learned to be prepared for something new and different everyday. I respected my management team and did my job without causing more stress for management. The workplace culture was one of support from our colleagues. The hardest part was always being on top of the many changes that took place. The most enjoyable part was being part of a great team working together.

Court Services Division (CSD) is the Ministry of the Attorney General's largest division and operates the largest and busiest court system in Canada.  With the main objective to provide a modern and professional court service that supports accessible, fair, timely and effective justice services, a typical work day can be very demanding. However my best experiences has come from working with the CSD, such as being able to participate and develop my skills in various branches of our legal system

The best thing about my experience during my field placement was being able to sit in and observe the courts and the way they work. Very interesting cases to watch and it is interesting to see each Judge's decision with each case that comes before them and to watch the lawyers try to make the best defense for their clients.

it was a very productive placed, I always did something at the workplace because I like to use my time wisely. I interacted with all the co-workers and the clients. I like to be outgoing with everyone I meet. when I first started working there I got training in everything I needed to do and all the tasks were simple because I am a fast learner

I worked at the Ontario Court of Justice in 2018 as a co-op student. This is a program that exchanges valuable work experience and credits, with volunteer hours. It was a good experience and they really made me feel apart of the staff.

Law school was too expensive so I chose to pursue a career in courts from the administrative side. The training was thorough, every day was interesting, and the pay was competitive. Enjoyed my time in this role. 

You learn a lot from different things what your job is everyday is different. Workplace is Good to work for. The hours are great and the pay is great and benefits too and great vacation too.

It was a good job, not enough training, and it was just a contract job that is why I left, I retained a full time position.  Worked alone and it got really busy on court days.

Receive good training, work with excellent government counsels and pro bono counsels. Work is very fulfilling and work environment is corroborative, with amazing supporting stuff.

Working in court brings something new every day. Working with the public in difficult situations is challenging, but worthwhile. It is fast paced and very rewarding.
