Would be nice if the scale is decent enough to meet the rising cost of living 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Delta Family serves Blacks n marginal communities in Northwest Toronto,  diverse families, moms, dads, grandparents,  caregivers, uncle n aunts

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Greet and meeting existing and new diverse families with children 0 to 6 years. 
Learning opportunities for children to enhance their skills. LANGUAGE,  COGNITIVE,  PHYSICAL,  SOCIOEMOTIONAL 
Building a stronger community

A typical work day consisted of myself and other supervisors accompanying the children of the daycare to the beach for regular swimming lessons. From there we would supervise the children and then proceed back to the daycare for lunch. After this myself and coworkers would get ready for activities while entertaining the children until the activity stations were ready. The hardest part of the job was the fact that sometimes I wanted to give into the children- for example if they wanted a candy that I was eating, and I was expected to firmly say no. The most enjoyable part of the job was having fun with the children and making sure they had the best day they could.

The Early Years Centre was an awesome experience! I learned alot from the staff about taking initiative and being you! 

A typical day at work starts off at 9 a.m. when I am greeted by my staff members. I am then off to wash the toys and mopping floors until noon. After that I take a long lunch break until 1 o'clock. I then am greeted by children under the ages of 6 years (sometimes older) who are all ready to do the activities, the staff and I prepared. I finish work at 3 p.m.

The hardest part of the job was standing for long periods of time. The most enjoyable part was seeing the smiles on the kids faces when I prepared the activities. My co-workers were awesome as well, management was OK!



As a member of this team I was required to deal with inventory lists and was involved in planning the menus for summer eight programs operating at schools in the Argyle area. She was responsible for the grocery shopping each week, organizing the food and assisted with the delivery, preparation and distribution of snack to the children in attendance. I also assisted with our literacy program- Books Can Take You Anywhere, our physical activity programs- Hop, Skip & Munch and Latin Dance with Your Preschooler as well as 2 Genesis Housing complex school aged programs which included planning a variety of crafts, games and physical activities.

A typical day at work involves creating an educational and intriguing atmosphere and environment for the children and parents coming in for the scheduled sessions. During my time at the center, I learnt how to motivate and inspire parents in educating their kids through intriguing and exciting activities. The workplace culture is inclusive, educating, exciting and fun. The hardest part of the job is remembering the various events and activities scheduled during the day. The most enjoyable part of the job, is connecting with the kids, and having fun together.

Assisting the Manager in day to day administrative work. Designing flyer for their 25th Anniversary Celebrations. Single handedly handling the Anniversary celebrations by sending out invitaions to VIP's and contacting the vendors and booking ads for printing in the book to be published.

Very friendly staff and a very healthy place to work. Very understanding and a supportive Manager.

I enjoyed working at the Centre but it was only a placement for my course. I was not able to put my full training in place as an Social Service Worker there because I was held back until my Professor stepped in and told the staff that I had to do more on my own not just shadowing the whole time. The best part I enjoyed was with all the children and the parents that I interacted with each day.

My time at the Early Years Centre was amazing. If I had not moved, I would have continued volunteering there. I enjoy working with kids and being a volunteer at this centre increased my interest in the teaching field.

A typical day at work for me would be running three programs with one of them being an infant program. Two days of the week I would be working in the office.

Great place to bring community together. The duration for the internship program was 3 months. I have developed strong interpersonal skills and be able to absorb new information rapidly and implementing.
