At Ontario line clearing you are expected to work a 65 hour work week and are only paid for 40. I was at the yard every day at 4:20A.M. and didn't get home until 5:00-5:30P.M. OLC would pay you 8 hours for this... Not only that but you pay 5 dollars a day to get to the city of Toronto to work which doesn't seem like a bad deal going in but you are on the clock from the time you show up, 4:30am, expected to load and unload trucks while your not being paid till 6:30am. Great deal right? 

Management just seems to be a team of people who try and gain your trust just to get you to sign off on rights you have as an employee so they can operate.
At the end of my employment here I was told "You did nothing wrong, but we're letting you go..." If things are that tough while they cheat and underpay their employees, I'd hate to see these guys try and operate above board in any type of fair manner. 

The people at ground level are easy to work with, this is the only positive at this place of business. Most of the guys have the wool pulled so far over their eyes they just accept their horrendous conditions. I feel bad for them. They are under paid, under appreciated and all management does is smile and ask you to sign another form. It seems to me they've had many problems in the past, they have a form involving signing away a right, for every contingency. 

I believed the lies but seen through the wool in a short time. Its doesn't strike me as coincidence that as soon as I start asking questions about hours of work and daily operations that they "let me go." Saying there wasnt enough work and ensuring me I did nothing wrong. Awful, greedy employers.

Atrocious place to work. Have fun being docked constantly while being threatened with different payscales and far locations to work. Toxic work environment unprofessional management, aggressive office staff.  Oh, and your main tool is an outdated tablet. Have fun doing all the billing and administrative duties on there. They spend more on spies making sure you don’t take any breaks without documenting it on paper, including bathrooms which must be included my the minute and location.  Must take photos of everything; might as well be that too. Run in the opposite direction if you value mental health. 

A typical day at work involves waking up early, getting to job sites on time and ready to work. I have learned more than I thought I would coming to this job. Management is great, they work hard to keep you happy. The hardest part of the job is that it is physically demanding and long hour (over-time included).  The crew members are easy going, good to work with and good pay...

Going home at the end of day!

Doing the administrative duties while cutting trees

Terrible. People are untrained

Doing more paperwork then tree work. Doing administrative jobs and tree work.

I had a great experience working with OLC. Learned and obtained knowledge, that helped put what I learned  to practice. The experience has give me the skills and opportunity to apply in several areas of my life. Words alone cannot express,the gratitude and appreciation I have experienced working with OLC.

Last minute communication from supervisors. Expect to live on the fly. When they say jump you ask how high.  Favorites are in play, some crews get better equipment and more perks because they're buddy buddy with higher ups 

Toxic work environment. Awful communication between office staff to workers and between supervisors and workers. Way underpaid for such a high risk and stressful job. I would keep searching for employment if value your mental health.

Forget being micromanaged here. The complete opposite is true. Virtually non existent management that will let you work as hard as you want. Good luck getting equipment that works. Dangerous work environment with poor I’ll maintained equipment. Inconsistent pay checks. 

Worked for a year and a half and retained lots of information and training regarding trees, and arborist operations. worked in Toronto ontario and Mississauga primarily, as well as on the road in Norfolk and Milton, ON. They keep you busy and working hard

Its been many years since i worked here. the guys i was with were great and they taught me a lot. climbing trees wasn't really for me but the experience was great and the owners were good
