I was fortunate to have such a rewarding career at a young age. At that time the company was a small business. In roughly the last two years of my 10+ year career there, the company evolved from a limited company, to an incorporated company and communication between the billing office and head office officially broke down. We were not informed of pertinent information. Upon discovery of the problem it was reported but future correspondence received was quite often only sent as an after-thought. Instead of having a rep present in our office (even if infrequently) would have kept tabs on the operations of the billing department while the office manager was on sick leave. The organization choose instead to have the marketing employee in the same office spy on the billing department and report back to HR. That spy felt the need to inform me of this information while it remained hidden to every other billing representative. The straw that broke the camels back was the email notification that our office was relocating more than 40 kms away. This was a forward of an email that was cc'd to a management employee. It was offered on a take it or leave it basis and that was the end of the matter. Never once was an attempt made to discuss the news. The absence of my office manager, and the transition to a new location were poorly handled. All of this I said directly to the  HR manager upon my exit interview. Long term employees have been fleeing the company like rats fleeing a sinking ship.

As a RPHT, the work on paper is pretty sweet, almost like an office job sitting and checking. However the organization hires mangers that would love to use you as stepping stones to a better position in the company, or see how much they can squeeze you dry before throwing you away. The company breaks a lot of Ontario labor laws, such as forcing overtime, work place harassments when someone refuses work beyond 44 hours a week or refuse possible dangerous task that could harm yourself or patients. Saying No to anything is a death wish. Even with documentation, HR only listen to these mangers and any complain falls on the worker. As if the a non manger has the power to control time management of a team. There is no proper record keeping any mistakes they assume it was yours, or try to pin it on you, as they need an scapegoat. Performance is not based on handwork, but how much you can lick boot and how you can fake it. The list of long term care homes has some that are high volume and low volume, if you are smart do all the low ones and on paper it looks like you did amazing per hour. No real measurement of an employee’s worth, if you buckle down and work hard taking on the large homes, you get called in for low number of homes per hour. If I had to recommend this company I would say yes if your desperate or patient care means nothing to you and you are a YES person.

This company is a disaster. If you're a new pharmacy tech graduate I would highly encourage you to stay away from this company. Managers are rude and are always on edge. Expect to be blamed for their mistakes because they can not admit that they are the ones who made the mistake. You will get treated with disrespect by co-workers who think they have the upper hand. They will treat you less than everyone else. The environment is stressful and you'll quickly hate the job you thought you enjoyed. This pharmacy gave me nightmares. Its sad that a company like this hires managers who can't take responsibility for their own faults and take their title to an advantage. Another huge problem is that some techs do so much more work than others and its pathetic. NEW techs are told to take care of cash,customers,inventory, phones, processing prescriptions, and helping the others fill. ALL OTHER TECHS...well they just fill and prep meds for pharmacist to check.

I worked at the Gloucester location, the environment was so toxic to the point the team is like a school they make a group against new employees!! and when the new employees not present, they fight with each other! a lot of gossip between employees to the point you feel once you leave the room they will talk about you, the management is aware of what's happening and lots of complaints including mine have been raised but they don't seem to be doing anything!
The job itself is fine, you learn new things, the salary is a bit more than retail pharmacies, but if you want a supportive environment, this place is definitely not yours! 
Medical Pharmacies are doing good job helping our community and I hope their higher management will take actions to stop those issues, welcome new employees with supportive environement, and control current employees better.

I worked. I worked very hard, I had to stay for 1 hrs in closings sometime, I stayed with Pharmacist on request. On next day no appreciation on hard work, instead d being called in office for not faxing acknowledgment to third party who were closed and Pharmacist told that it will taken care morning since she is working. Worst Team lead and Manager are also biased and just do favourism. Many team members lile GEM for this company and veru hard working people left just because of poor on site management at IV department. Worst team lead ever. I have seen people crying at job because they being pushed and grilled just because of silly mistake and sometimes you are nto part of it. Lead does not want to do anything except this. If do not want to invite mental health issues, do not join for this location. Company and Pharmacist Team are amazing. I survived long just I love them. 

I worked at medical plarmacies for almost three years. I watched a lot change. Poor management long hours. No help what so ever. Expected to do way more then what one person can handle. Expected to skip breaks. Just overall a horrible place to work. People were friendly but management was the worst. Manager was and is still unapproachable he thinks he’s better then everyone else talks down to people gossips about other employees. Does not do his job properly whatsoever. He is not open to suggestions and thinks he knows best. When clearly he is one of the biggest problems with that place. Highly recommend that if you have small children to not work there as you will have no time with your family. Horrible all around. I could go on and on but honestly there is so much wrong that this review would be pages long. My advice is to stay far far away. (Barrie location)

 Had responsibilities of management but paid as entry level. Trained over 15 new hires. Major team lead.. No recognition. They give raises of 10 cents annually across the board and the raises are assessed a year before implementing. So if your responsibilities have increased during that year you will NOT be paid accordingly. Revolving door of new hires as no one wants to stay in such a messy environment. They play favorites. They have employees who drink and are under the influence of various substances during work hours. The "exceutives" a.k.a. the people with offices are treated like royalty and anyone in a lesser role is to bow. Your not even to walk down thier hall without reason. LOL!!  The redhead one is highly jealous of beautiful women so be on your guard for petty complaints on your attire. Overall crud bowl. 

Upper-level management (head office) has no idea what they’re doing. Very short sighted, extremely unintelligent decisions enforced that ultimately cause more stress and frustration and result in good staff leaving. Needless to say very high turnover rate but head office doesn’t seem to understand the reason behind it, despite 20+ people quitting in the previous 10 months. Little support provided coupled with unrealistic expectations, no real guidance, and many empty promises. Little to no communication between different departments of head office which further leads to more frustration and unnecessary stress. Decision to leave ultimately came down to frustration at overall incompetence. 

It’s sad because this company has so much potential:(

The work day typically starts off fairly slow and picks up later on in the afternoon when the deliveries start going out.  Most employees are only trained on one station, however they have recently started to make a point on training employees on multiple stations in case we are short staffed that day and another station needs assistance.  The workplace is extremely busy and often hard to keep up with, as the number of staff doesn't exactly meet the needs of the pharmacy.  This tends to cause the staff to work quite a bit of overtime, often every day.  The hardest part of the job is being able to keep up with the pace while still producing quality work and not making medication errors.
