Responsible for providing security services for hospital nurses and visitors, protecting entity buildings, ensuring the safety and security of all visitors and property. 
Active in patrolling the parking lots and external ground, keeping logs of all security incidents. 
Interface with the Police and Fire Departments and respond to all emergency situations as needed or directed by policy. 
Answer radio pages and calls in a prompt manner and prioritize calls based on importance. 
Maintain the safety and security of residents, visitors and staff. 
Perform identification and vehicle checks.
Viewing of the CCTV and accessing footage when necessary.

There was never a dull day, the way I like it, at Ministry of Children and Youth Services. It was a very fast-paced office and my day consisted of juggling schedules, calender management and various ongoing projects for senior management and 10 team members, who all appreciated my efforts to maintain order and keep up with the last minute changes that occurred.

I enjoyed the daily challenges such as catering for 200 on an allocated budget, finding the boardroom that accommodates the attendees required to pricing and ordering additional teleconference phones for the office.

Unfortunately my contract came to an end but in leaving I acquired more office administration knowledge and experience.

I enjoy working as Administrative Assistant.  I start my normal day by checking the e-mails and requests for the manager or the team.  I mark the deadlines on my calendar and enter in the tracking sheet so I don't miss anything.  Normally I prioritize my workload according to priority.  I work in different organizations and I believe this added to my experience as I learn from every place something new.  I like to learn new skills.  I like also to interact with the public as I'm passionate and considerate and enjoy helping people out.

Premise from which they operate is flawed in that they expect all staff to befriend AND discipline youth.  Discipline that most would apply in their own homes is not acceptable and often thwarted by management. No-win situations daily.  Senior management is always looking for ways that staff erred to the point it is demoralizing. Senior managers override middle managers and front line staff. Senior managers bully staff

Document control with aiding in company becoming paperless by ensuring clean and concise scanning of  documents.

The current job  has a great combination of social work and customer services and requires an extremely very high level of security mentality and environment. I have learned how to communicate effectively according to the person/s I'm trying to engage with based off of their needs. Making sound decisons while under stress has also come to as a second nature in my line of work and holding other accountable is a must to succeed.

Jobs not for everyone, if you’re a casual then your work/life balance will be gone. 

You’re expected to create strong professional relationships with the youth as well as being responsible for the discipline of those youth. 

If you screw up management will be down your throat, and quick. 

They make you feel appreciated. They are flexible as long as you put in your hours if you have appointments you can go and make up your hours. Very team friendly. They value your inputs and work. They will say thank you. 

A few good people who know their jobs and are dedicated to what they do and helping the clients.  However, this is an extremely high-school environment (cliques), which include members of management - detrimental to a positive working environment if the strongest ringleaders decide you are not "one of them" (bullying).
