Depending on what area of greenhouse you work the job is horrid.  Short tempered managers that yell in front of everyone, they even yell at people over the radio. Owners are actually decent,  but never around to see how the operation is actually running.  Managers are so incompetent that you could work 10 days in a row and then all of a sudden get two days off mid week, with nothing but a 12 hours notice..  hours are all over the place.  Could work 4 hours one day and 12 hours the next day.    Benefits are minimum wage cause they avoid hiring Canadians to bring in more oversee workers.

Family owned, very little information shared outside of family circle. No consultation with non family management on changes.
Schedule is at the mercy of the plant growth, 3 hours one day, 16 the next.  Very hard to balance life and work when you work 7 days a week for several months at a time during peak season,

Hours very day to day week to week. Months with no work. Favoritism with employees is high. Hours are not shared evenly amongst employees. No help from management, HR is no help either.
Enjoyable part are your co-workers. 

Best greenhouse in the region, and a place for the people who love to work in the horticulture industry. It is a fast-paced work environment and also quality concerned, which is needed. End of the day you can proud of your contribution, and you are paid for that.  

I regret to say I did not enjoy working at this company, two private owners. They do not make people feel are important for their business and they have extremely long hours and very high expectations, they do not pay for overtime or any benefit to workers.

No matter how hard you work, you don't get rewarded for your effort so its hard to keep motivated. Workers easily become complacent because you can be really fast or be really slow and at the end of the day everyone is making the same amount. Management doesn't reward their better employees.

Constant sideshow...nobody ever, ever takes responsibility for their mistakes and always blames others.  Yelling at employees in front of others and real cases of power going to peoples' heads.  Only thing that unites people is their shared misery.

No equal treatment  for the workers. They treat the temporary foreign workers (TFW) differently from the citizens inside the workplace. You can learn how to operate different types of machines 

Great job. It was just very painful on my neck and shoulders. Day shifts were enjoyable. Other employees friendly. Managers wonderful people.  The shifts tended to be unreliable because they were dependent on orders that needed to be filled.

 They are approachable, open to feedback, and genuinely invested in the growth and development of their employees. I have always felt supported and encouraged to take on new challenges and expand my skill set.
