Orange Julius

Depending if I opened the store I would be setting up the different work stations such as smoothies and julius's and hot dog station and the ice cream station with everything needed for the day, prepped food for the day, washed dishes and cleaned the store when not busy serving customers. I learned how to deal with customer's inquires and complaints, how to up sell products to customers. Management was not always on the same page and didn't always communicate properly of things that needed to be done in the store to the co-workers. The co-workers were great and I got along with most of everyone I worked with at the time including management. The hardest part of the job for me was dealing with difficult customers. The most enjoyable part of the job was when things were communicated properly by management we got things done and they made it fun for the co-workers to work.

An ordinary day involves pleasing customers with quality made product in a fast-paced environment.

Ensuring the establishment remained clean at all times and that daily goals were achieved.

Designating tasks to ensure all employees stayed organised.

I was very lucky to have a loving and caring manager that put the employees and success of the store first, to ensure customers were receiving the best service possible. 

The most difficult part of the job was integrating new employees and ensuring that they would work well with others. As a senior within the company, I wanted to ensure all employees had the same goals to succeed within the company. 

The most enjoyable part of my job was to see customers leave happy.

A place where you're able to work independently and gain valuable skills. Your memorization skills are put to the test since you have to remember all the recipes, routines, and procedures that need to be executed. A lot of times, there will be conflict between the customers' needs and the store's policies, however, there is always a way to accommodate for the customers needs, you just have to be able to figure them out as quickly as possible. Since it is a fast food industry, you have to think quickly and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. This job enables you to develop critical thinking skills as well as leadership skills, for you have to work independently most of the time and take charge of situations.

The work experience at Orange Julius was nice. Training was provided before get to start developing a good customer relationship, and the partnership with team members. The manager was patient to explain how to be capable of the job. In which, honesty, excellent interpersonal skills, and efficiency were some of the key points she had highlighted. Although, there is no benefit to part-time workers, and low opportunity for advancement. But, there are enjoyable parts that really make the work experience at OJ valuable. The best one is that the co-workers there were sweet. They are open to teach things you don't know and correct things that you should pay attention to work on.

The West Edmonton Mall Orange Julius location is an awful place to work. Employees are not respected by store owners. There is very little room for advancement. During business hours, employees are encouraged not to clean the work space but instead stay standing at the counter until customers approach. This often leaves the store filthy with sticky counters and floors. Dishes pile up in the sink which takes longer to clean at the end of the night. Employees get only on half hour break for the entire eight hour shift. Overall, I would not recommend working at Orange Julius in the West Edmonton Mall. This has been the worse work experience I have ever had.

A typical day of work could be slow, but it would be made fun when you worked with some good coworkers. I learned a lot of patience is required at times. Management was good until the 3 good managers left and then the place became less than fun to work at. Hardest part of the job would be communication with different workers, as everybody has their own way of doing things. The most enjoyable part was when the staff would have fun on the job by singing or even dancing during the slow hours.

Work hours were flexible with great management and coworkers. Busy hours were usually during the afternoons and also when the shows at the PNE end such as the dog show. I was able to improve on multitasking skills and efficiently take multiple orders while maintaining organization. A typical day at work included handling both the cashier desk, talking with customers and also making the drinks.

During my time at orange Julius I have learned a lot with customer service, management and knowing the duties in a work environment. I enjoyed working with my co-workers and managers. I have only work there for just 12 months before my store eventually closed down but I had an amazing experience having this as my first ever work opportunity,

Very friendly, work hard.
I wouldn't say there is something hard about the job maybe just dealing with negative customers. 
Having good relationships with the people you work with makes the job enjoyable.

A typical work day involved preparing drinks and food for customers. Handling cash along with assisting in customers complaints and issues. When business days are slow, stock was being checked on and counted. Managers and coworkers are phenomenal people to work with, always unpredictable but fun days. Overall, Orange Julius is a great place to work.
