Outstanding Nursing team, they give great feedback which leads to outstanding performance from all staff.
Willing to listen, hear suggestions, complaints are taken seriously and a solution is provided. They care for the staff just as much as they do for residence. Room to grow and learn.

Great team work, Peer support. The working  atmosphere is light, and smooth going, 

Residence are fantastic, they give the love, respect, considerations back to staff. 

Activity Director is hands on daily, goes above and beyond for residence.

Housekeeping staff are very helpful, work hard to maintain the building, we would struggle without them.

Maintenance are hands on and outstanding in keeping this whole building running smoothly.

Kitchen staff eager to help you in dinning room, fast, efficient, spot on. 

 Chefs are always making amazingly tasting dishes, always something different daily, eager to provide many different healthy options. The food is delightfully delicious!!

Our staff down at the front, very friendly, informative, caring, our eyes and ears. Wonderfully charming.

I love my job and have from the start. When deciding to continue my education and become a nurse, there wasn’t any hesitation on managements part to be a support while I made it through that journey. Checking on me and giving lots of advice and support, while giving me the freedom to work when I was able. 

I have always felt comfortable walking into any managers door and expressing my concerns knowing it was a safe space to do so. Whether others agree they have always had an open door policy without prejudice. 

Though I have to say the best part of my job are the people I work with, who have in turn become friends and make the though days at work more meaningful. The residents we care for are some of the finest people I’ve gotten to know. Caring for them, both past and present has been a joy and I’ve learnt so much from them. 


Unfortunately as beautiful as the actual building is, It’s all about the money at the end of the day. Upper management very clearly gets annoyed when they have to deal with an issue because they only see that their “wasting money” by sitting down to discuss it. Upper Management has also been known to tell employees that they don’t care what the employee thinks because they’ve made up their mind. 

Unfortunately Management is also known to say one thing to your face and then say another thing to their co-managers causing chaos in communication and staff being left to deal with the mess they caused. 

They have also been known to terminate employees for doing something that many other employees have also done and not gotten fired for, showing favouritism. 

Very hostile Work Environment.

This place is a beautiful place to work in. Most of the staff are unbelievably amazing, but the management only cares about themselves. They have absolutely no compassion or respect for their employees, will talk about you, gossip about you, and than act like they are your friend. They are two faced and will take advantage  of you any chance they can get. Any complaint that is spoke about, is placed in the garbage. They have absolutely no interest in the safety of their staff. 
Would highly NOT recommend working here if you care about others or yourself. You will be treated like a piece of meat and I promise you, if you don’t bow down to them like they are a king or queen, they will make sure you know you are just meat. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The residents are amazing. The activity girls do a great job of giving the residents something to look forward to!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Management expecting you to put your job above your well being.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very clicky. If management likes you you can get away with anything if they don’t then your getting spoke  to about meaningless little things weekly.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Nothing except the kind residents, managers are oinept and ignorant

Working at the company was stressful because it's not a  well managed company 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Keeping shareholders happy is all they care about at Orchardview 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Not good, spend day trying to find a better job

Working here was a great experience, at the same time, if you didn't work in the "in crowd" then it was pretty much a nightmare.

Those who worked in said crowd would easily get days off, and yet, if I asked for a day off weeks in advanced, I'd get a 'we can't cover you'. Funnily enough I thought that was what casual and part-time employees were for. Also got a lot of backlash when I requested sick leave.

I really enjoyed working here and the staff are funny and friendly. My only issue is some staff members get paid more and some get paid less and I don't think its fair some times depending on the work being done
 

Pros: the residents

Cons: favouritism from management, they only appreciate you if you are benefiting them. Staff approached management about a pay increase, management refused, claiming they give staff 'incentives' throughout the year (example- Christmas party.... yet they do nothing for the staff that has to work and can't attend the party)

Beautiful facility!   But unrealistic expectations of staff, workload mirrors long term care, but pay scale does not,  frequent staff shortages due to low pay scale and burnout,  poor organization and multiple managers who can not come to a consensus causing confusion for staff,
