Origin has changed so much in the past few years, and all for the better. The Health and Wellness manager is 110% on your side and will do everything she can to support you in your job. I have never had a more understanding, welcoming, and open boss. 

Many health staff have been with Origin for several years and it's been great to developed a solid working relationship/friendship with them. 

As with any newer companies there are occasional growing pains, but with the proper support these changes have been great. 

Compared to other health settings that I have worked in, Origin is quite relaxed and low-stress. There are opportunities for continued education and growth as well.

Last but definitely not least... the residents are amazing!

Origin is a good place to work if you enjoy being around seniors. It is an active living retirement community. The best part about working there is being around the residents and being about to communicate with them and learn about their life stories. There is lots of opportunity to advance within the company as well as volunteer opportunities to enhance the daily lives of the residents. The one negative about Origin is that the management team tends to put a lot of work onto their employments and not giving them enough time to accomplish their tasks. Overall a good place to be however.

Amazing health team at Origin! Like most health care aide jobs, it's hard work, but reliable staff and amazing residents make most days a breeze! The Health and Wellness director is the most accommodating, supportive and hard working person I've ever worked with. She stands on her head every day to keep her staff and residents happy and always makes you feel like a valued member of the team.

There have been lots of growing pains, as to be expected with a newer company. Staff turnover in health is minimal with many working here since day one.

Where do I begin? Origin has the highest turnover rate for employees more than anywhere I’ve worked in the bow valley! They can’t keep staff as there’s no room for advancement or raises. With the turnover rate being so high you’re treated very poorly like you’re just another number that will leave within 2 months so no effort is put into their employees. If you want to feel under appreciated then this is the place for you! They’re always short staffed and you constantly miss your breaks. The lack of staff is unsafe working in the health care department!

Nurses and Health Care Aides, save yourselves the stress by staying away from this place. It's absolutely awful! It will suck the life out of you. There's zero job security, as they just randomly terminate you, doesn't matter if you're the lead LPN or not. They're constantly changing the work schedule and don't care about work-life balance. They let resident's move in who are total care and don't provide you with the necessary lifts and resources to care for that resident. They threaten to report you to CLPNA and constantly question your nursing judgement. The list would go on and on.

Origin will throw you under the bus and question your nursing judgement. There’s no union and your nursing license is at risk and the workload isn’t safe at all!! They don’t care about their staff and the management is horrible as stated by staff and certain resident’s. You’ll always work short-staffed as people on the health care team call in sick to work elsewhere with a higher pay. There’s no union to back you up, you’re on your own and it’s sketchy!

An absolutely distasteful management with 0 regards for human decency when it comes to staff. The GM is the most narcissistic person I have ever had the pleasure of working for, thinking she has all the knowledge when she's never worked a day as a nurse in her life. 
The locals all know what a sham of a home this is- with 0 health care locals still working there. Word around town is there is 0 job security and are working remaining staff to the bone due to shortages of firing staff so they don't have to pay benefits.

DO NOT WORK HERE.

If you DON'T want to be respected or appreciated, then Origin at Spring Creek is for you!   The GM doesn't care about the employees or the residents.
It's an extremely unprofessional company that doesn't value anyone!
It's very sad, because the residents are ultimately paying the price with the lack of staff.  Too bad the CEO is allowing her to create such a toxic environment.
This used to be great place, and could be again, but will remain the same as long as the management stays the same.   

It is what you make it- you’ve got your schedule but there’s lots of opportunity to work more hours. While it’s true there’s not a lot of room for advancement, management is supportive of schooling to get more qualifications. 
The health care manager is hands down the most understanding and supportive manager I’ve ever come in contact with. She works so hard to keep her employees happy and it shows. 
While it’s not the highest paying job around, it’s a wonderful atmosphere to work in, and I highly recommend it

Origin has been a great employer who always sees to it that staff are supported and puts residents safety first. 

They have a culture that surpasses differences and they live with the Origin Way all the time - that is asking each individual: “What do you want to do today”. Simple yet very powerful in ensuring that each person has a voice.
