What is the best part of working at the company?
They pay good. Was great working remote. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
No opportunities for advancement or continued employment. Abrupt leadership changes. Lack of program direction. Unqualified candidates in leadership roles. Very much based on who you knew verses merit based quality applicants in order to get any sort of advancement or secure employment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very toxic. Lots of people off on stress leave constantly. Poor adherence to union rules. Very segregated working teams with little collaborative abilities. Duplicity in jobs with no kne actually doing much work.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Lots of teams meetings which never brought about any sort of productive work. Always "tabling items for further meetings" for weeks on end.

For an organization who is supposed to be at the centre of caring for the citizens of Ottawa, it sure doesn't take care of it's employees. While the work being done there is important. And while there are many many many wonderful and intelligent people working there, there are some people in management who are controlling, short-sighted, and who treat employees like they are just warm bodies, easily disposed of when the job is done. Since the pandemic, I've seen many people be "let go". The attitude from management is, "well, you should have known that this wasn't going to lead to anything..." for people who put their lives on hold for YEARS so that they could support OPH. It's like a bad relationship where you think you are dating someone lovely, but then they dump you and tell you should have known better. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
Disaster working environment. Employed during Covid. Disorganized and wasted hours spent on policy changes that NO manager could keep straight. Very disappointing and embarrassing to have worked for them. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The disorder. Very unpleasant and unprofessional. Wasted hours daily on nonsense. It was clear that the ‘professionals’ making policy have never touched a patient. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Unprofessional and disorganized 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Hours of wasted time arguing (as a group) over policy changes. Constant miscommunication with patients. Embarrassing to have been a part of this team.

I worked with over 100  different colleagues over the course of my year on the OPH team's COVID 19 Clinic data verification clerks. Despite the constant changes in the information learned world-wide about covid, the people we worked with were hard working, upbeat and extremely flexible as we adapted to new procedures and realities. Arriving at one clinic only to be sent to another. But truly happy about it because we believed we played a positive role in safeguarding the health of those we registered.

Working during COVID is not normal..things change on the daily, but working for OPH you know that you will always be supported!! The staff, from crew to supervisors are all patient, kind and understanding!! I have never had a job where I have felt a part of something, part of a team, with a mutual goal in mind!! I have loved past jobs, because of the job, not the coworkers, but here I love both!! 

A typical day at work is very busy. I really enjoy my work and take pride in helping ottawa’s residents find what they need within our company. Working in health can be challenging at times because you hear all types of situations people are dealing with, most of them are sad and very unfortunate. It is rewarding in the end when you can help with even a kind voice or simply directing them to the department they require

No  stability and they pay you less that you think you will received

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
They can change your hours like they want 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It’s ok, a lot people from different cultures 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Less than 7 hours at day I they don’t pay breaks

-Assessing the quality of drinking water system across the city
-Following up all advese test results and other adverse incidents related to drinking water systems
-Mitigating adverse water  results
-Educating the owners and operators of small drinking system on how to maintain their drinking water system safe
-etc...

What is the best part of working at the company?
I'm a previous employer and wished I was still employed but due to the Covid funding I was let go. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not knowing if you will have a job at the end of the contract.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Great Team with lots of support and care.

At first I learnt a lot with this company but I realized quite quickly that you’re only as good as your connections and that your growth is stunted if you’re not what they want. I learned a lot from this organization which I appreciate and grew a lot and find that valuable to use in my future path
