If you're looking for a part-time job while going to school or just to keep busy, this is a great place to work. People are really kind and polite for the most part and pay is above average in my opinion. Safety is a big priority and there is always opportunity to learn new things, if you are a hard worker. The hardest part can be dealing with customers who don't understand store policy and think they are god and think that they are always right.. but I guess you would see this in a lot of customer service jobs.

When I first started it was great but after I graduated it started to go down hill. I didn't know what I wanted to do as a career after I graduated so I decided I might as well try to move into a higher position in the company. This at first was a good experience, people were open to teaching me new things and always kind. When I finally got the position I had been working towards things changed. My manager knew I could do his job so they just wouldn't show up for work and of course I felt like I needed to do it because well.. who else was going to? Anyways, I ended up quitting because management was awful. My managers bosses wouldn't do anything when I looked to them for help so I left and glad I did.

I loved working for Otter Co-op at the beginning. One thing I really enjoyed is the fact that the care about their employees first. Although they care about employees and safety, my manager didn’t hold up to what she said she would do for me before she hired me. I had a couple stipulations before taking the job, and unfortunately i was promised them and didn’t always get them. She defiantly made it obvious that she didn’t like me, and for someone with bad depression and anxiety when i had to walk in and see her it made it way worse for me. Be prepared to be interrogated by her. I don’t recall many times she was nice. I never went to HR on her, and I should have but I didn’t want more drama. I would not recommend this job because of poor management, and because they don’t hold to their promise. Their motto is “You’re at home here,” and never once did I feel at home wether I was working or a customer. Out of 10, this job gets a solid 2 at most.

• Boss was ok while the head manager looked arrogant and acted condescending

• Co-workers are nice and got hang out with a few, there are couple that are not in my leage that I think didn't get along in good terms

• Multi-tasking, expect alot of multi-tasking

• Going home to spend time with family & friends for support (for freedom)
Wouldn't work there again.

Very poorly mismanaged. If you are an experienced bartender or server you will NOT like working for co-op.

1) tips are horrible and it is dead most of time. You will be a cleaner as the list of side duties grows and clientele shrinks. 


2) you are always being watched on a camera and questioned about anything and everything. 

3) the locals that did not boycott the takeovers are great people but they are consistently complaining and unhappy in the direction the place is going. You WILL get lot of negative feed back, which is emotionally taxing. 

 The regulars and locals in the area do not like it, the staff is unhappy because it is a ghost town in there and they are not open to any guest feedback from floor staff or even middle management. 

They are doing horribly and lose thousands of dollars weekly with the horrible changes they’ve pushed.

I learned that although you work hard and do your job, someone is going to bring you down. It was very much a bully atmosphere, people talking behind your back instead of trying to support you. Management did nothing to support you! I felt anxious just going into work most days. "Teamwork" is not in their vocabulary. Office is poorly run and there is no support for their team members. It is such a negative atmosphere! The long term employees are the worst and should be replaced to make it better for their members. If it wasn't for a few key people in other areas of the store, I would have left long before. Good incentives, but wage not great for the stress that you endure. Horrible experience! Glad to be out!

I absolutely loved this job! I loved the guest and co-workers. But upper-management is the issue. They only care about the money coming in nothing more. I was asked, via phone from the “safety and asset protection leader”, to confront a person shoplifting. I was young and agreed. I went home and told my parents and when they told my manager because they saw the issue not myself (as I was young and dumb), my manager then told me “If an issue like this arises again in the future, you need to bring it up to me yourself. As now I cannot do anything about the situation, since you didn’t report it.” (I did report it just after my parents). Management would rather try and save the $10, then keep the employees safe. Sad. 

The Parallel location is probably the most toxic work environment I’ve ever worked in. If the managers decide that they don’t like you they will harass and belittle you until you quit. It didn’t matter how good of an employee you were. The management really needs to get their act together. We lost so many good employees because of this. If you like working in a stressful environment where your good works go unnoticed then this is the place for you. Otherwise don’t work here. I can’t stress enough how bad the management at this location is.

Work environment was calm and fun . Happy go lucky attitude on all team members that I worked with

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
4:00am start load my truck start my deliveries. Meet customers see how they are doing and is there anything we could do for them .

Not a good place to work. Management was not good, we were chronically understaffed and scheduling was abysmal. By that, I mean the schedule would come out on Monday, and the work week started on Sunday. 

The people you work with are quite nice, including the managers, they just did not run the store well. A lot of promises are never fulfilled.

Cleanliness is not the top priority and standards are not enforced, a lot of corner-cutting. 

Great place to work if you want to learn to take responsibility, shut up and just work 

Management plays favourites. They will expect full time availability, but if they don’t like you they will cut your hours down to basically nothing out of nowhere, without any sort of communication, but still expect you to keep your availability fully open for the company.  Absolutely horrible communication between management and employees in general. Shifts frequently get changed out of nowhere with no communication.
