You will be an undercover sales person posing as a customer service rep
This is 100% sales job, don't be fooled.
Even though you have been doing the job for a long time and meeting or exceeding all quotas and requirements this is the type of company that will make you apply for your job after your contract ends with previous contracted company.
they do not care about any of your past performance, nor do they care to ease your mind and give you the job, they like to see you sweat it out
the majority of your job will be customer service issues which you will have to be very knowledgeable about and this will take much of your time but ultimately you will be expected to reach sales goals.
Your customer service abilities are expected but never acknowledged. you will have to rely on the support from customer service by calling them when assisting customers sometimes. If you can understand them, they are very rude and do not want, nor will they, talk to you let alone help you to help the customer. Most of them act like they have no idea who you are.  You will also get many different answers from them as they don't seem to communicate there.
All pc financial cares about are your sales and compliance to unrealistic rules.
Communication between related departments/products and services are non-existent making you feel in the dark about current issues or new services all the time. you will always be the last to know anything, reiterating the fact that you are nobody to them

You take your provided-tablet to the grocery store and walk around the store asking people if they are interested in signing up for the store credit card scheme. 
I learned I have "the type of face that looks angry" when at rest and approaching customers seemed to frighten them away. 
Management was non-existent. I worked in the Saskatoon location but my manager was based out of Regina. He would never be around to do actual training. Each week I was scheduled for the entire week, then I would get a phone call or text telling me to not bother coming in for my shifts so I was only working one day per week which was not really worth my time. 
There are no co-workers, and we are employed by contract by the parent company of the supermarket and therefore are not part of the store's team at all. It was a fine arrangement which caused no problems. 
The hardest part of the job is being on your feet all day and dealing with rejection when shoppers don't want to sign up for the credit card. They are in the store to shop for food, not sign up for stuff.
The enjoyable part was working by myself and the store is a nice place to spend your time. 
This is a legitimate job (you apply online and get trained online and get shipped your equipment in the mail, it seemed suspicious to me at first but it is legitimate) for the right type of person. My demeanor frightened people away, others may have better luck.

A typical workday would require you as an to came in ready to go despite whatever is going on in your life  in order to accomplish your sale goals and it is completely on You whether or not that happens.

As an entry-level sales job, I think it’s a great opportunity to develop All sorts of communicational skills

Management does not play any major role in this position and that’s just how it is you have to be prepared and understand what it means to be self managed if you want a successful time here but it’s yet another opportunity to develop more skills 

As with all jobs, the (Work) culture simply is a matter of who you find yourself lucky enough to work with. For me, I count myself extremely lucky because I had both grade supervisor and fantastic coworkers that were able to show me the ropes which really helped push my success while working there. But again hope you’re lucky and you find someone you like working with

All in all my time there was great, especially for Entry level sales. But a Position like this is really what you make of it. If you have to come person that can’t keep chugging forward despite opposition you may find yourself having a difficult time but then again if that is you, sales might The path you should go down.

The salary plus commission option allowed for good income.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Quotas are not adjusted by location. If your location is small, and quotas can  not be consistently met, employer feedback can be less than professional. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The sales position is mostly independent, but is often located in a Loblaw's store. The culture of the store is not always consistent with overall company values, although on paper the Loblaw values sound nice, it is not followed at all locations. In some, morale is low, stress is high, and employee turnover is also high.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrival. Set up, digital check in. Interact with as many people as possible, analyze areas where each person may have a "problem" that could be solved by a PC product. Pitch product, following conduct and legal protocols. Close sale, and move on to the next person. Repeat until end of day. Rejection is high, stay positive! Day ends, tidy kiosk or office, check out.

PC Financial has consistently demonstrated an alarming lack of competence and reliability, both for customers and staff. Their systems are inefficient, their customer service is slow and unhelpful, and staff appear unsupported and undertrained, leading to repeated errors and unresolved issues. Customers frequently face long wait times, unclear policies, and unresponsive communication channels, creating frustration and distrust. Even routine banking tasks can become unnecessarily complicated due to outdated processes and poorly maintained platforms. Staff morale suffers as employees are often left to manage dissatisfied customers without proper guidance or authority to resolve problems. Overall, the organization exhibits systemic inefficiencies that impact everyone involved, leaving clients feeling neglected and staff overburdened. PC Financial’s inability to provide reliable service reflects poorly on its brand and undermines confidence in its operations. Urgent reforms and improved customer support are essential for restoring trust and operational efficiency.

Bonuses given only if you excel in THREE areas (spread yourself thin!). Expected to sell during my training period, without knowing what I was selling or how to enter accounts! Was left alone in a PCF banking pavilion for 16 days last December as a new employee just out of training (some shifts were 10 hours)! I excelled over 1,000% in a number of areas during my six weeks out of training, but was let go as my no-fee-bank--account sales placed me only mid-pack of my peers! VERY low pay for a lot of responsibility and accountability. HALF as much as I used to get selling furniture and appliances!! After being hired I didn't start for two MONTHS, then the hours were extended to 8 pm, I had to train in another city half the time, the sales targets were changed and I started with someone new as a boss. My ID didn't work for the first two weeks and I was criticized for not opening accounts. I have over 30 years in sales and was treated like I had just crawled out from under a rock. This position is for the young at heart who don't know good management if they've never had it

* Lack of strong or clear leadership from the management team, it is apparent that the the leadership is un-united and operate in cliques. 

*Change is expected, however there have been constant reorgs without any direction on how roles will change or expectations on how we should be working together. The working team is left to figure it out on their own and when the teams are not working well , another reorg happens. 

*Mediocre compensation & benefits 

* Several departments consist of hard working and talented employees while others are bitter, complacent and angry. Because the company is still subjectively small, all large scale projects require all departments to work collaboratively. When not all departments are made equal - this often leads to friction, conflict, blame and a toxic work environment

Positives: There is no shortage of interesting work, and if you're part of a strong team with smart talented people, you can learn from each other.

When I was hired I expected to have sales targets, which at the time were reasonable. Training was focused on service and support of products, which leads to sales.

I get paid very well for what I do. Better than most other financial institutions. And up until recently it's been a decent job.

I worked hard to get to hit monthly targets. Since the pandemic they nearly doubled targets because larger centres were blowing the targets out of the water. 

Here is a very limited clientele which limits sales opportunities.

On a recent job review, I was told by my manager to pass off any customer service questions to the call centre so I can focus on getting more sales.

My manager is great but he's being forced by his boss to raise the numbers.

They don't care about the employee or the customer only the bottom line. 

Very poor management except no response whatsoever. Very stressfull and mentally draining. Management does not care about employees well, you have to work on whatever days they decide which was super misleading from the interview. Sales calculated on a daily basis with very high expectations at the end of the week which puts your job at risk. Except to be visited on a daily basis to discuss what’s the plan and new strategies from now on with a lot of negative comments. If you have one bad day no matter of your previous results and success you will be written up. You are treated as a number over there as it’s a very unstable company where everyone leaves literally on the same day or week and new hires join regularly. Very misleading, be careful before applying!

This company will hound you on sales if you are NOT CONSISTENT. No matter how many good days you have they do not care. If it is not consistent they will make you feel like you have not done anything good for the company. You will become expendable PC FINANCIAL will fire you and hire someone instantly like you were just a number. The bonus system is terrible, you are only getting a couple more dollars above minimum wage and they expect you to hit their impossible daily targets everyday. For being in a small town they will compare you to the big city and make you feel worthless. Everyone in a small town working for PC FINANCIAL RUN! Everyone either has the card or doesn’t have good enough credit to obtain one. Therefore making it impossible to be consistent in your sales.
