Don't waste your time. I have worked here for over a year and a half as full time. If you need money and are desperate, this place is perfect but do not stay. It is full of grumpy old people, perverted men and management that has no idea what their doing alot of the time. Machines always break down, including the x-ray machine on de-boning because the machine isn't even built for all of the product that goes through. They don't care though and will only blame the employees for bones getting through the meat even though the machine isn't even built for it. Very low work ethic, the company will throw a pizza party ONCE a year because the union forces them to. The place also smells poor and moldy and has cockroach problems in the lockers. Also say goodbye to your personal life balance because you're only going home when they're ALL done production which is a different time every single day and can go as long as 12 hours if there are break downs. The money isn't worth the fact that your personal life will be gone, you will be used and abused,(the newer you are, the more the company abuses you and always keeps you late) you will be getting carpal tunnel regardless due to repetiveness with hand movement, and you will be treated poorly like a slave.The place is freezing obviously, you have to wear a mask while hanging chickens, (hours on end that is alot of hard work at first) have fun getting chicken juice in your eyes, and have fun asking to go to the bathroom like a little child whenever you have to go, because you will be punished greatly if not. It would be understandable getting someone to take your place if your busy. But even if you have free time for half an hour, god forbid you don't ask to use the bathroom and one of the leadhands will scream at you like you're stupid.

I wish I didn't have this much negativity but it's all true unfortunately, don't make a mistake like I did.

My first day of work with this company I was very excited! Had all the makings to be a great place. Until you see everyone and just how disorganized and frantic everyone is, no one knows what anyone is doing. Upon arriving to pintys I had to make a stop in the office, and as I stand there waiting for an answer to a question, all I hear is the Supervisor (I believe she was) yelling about my question, very unprofessional, and extremely disrespectful. Then I went inside to start my shift and I was left alone in a hallway to wait for someone for approx. 20 minutes, before a supervisor came and took me somewhere else since the person clearly wasn't coming back. Then after starting out on the floor, I received roughly 40 minutes of training before the person training me had finished up her shift and left me to run a whole machine while waiting for the next shift. 30 minutes later NO ONE came to replace her. So here I am first day, and 40 minutes of training trying to run this machine that keeps messing up, and receiving dirty looks. Numerous times I asked for help but the majority of the employees didn't speak English or pretended not to anyways. Finally I found someone willing to help, and got a lead hand, they then proceeded to "help" if you want to call it that, for roughly 10 minutes and left to not be seen again.

I worked there for approximately three years just because I needed the money.  Favouritism is a huge part with where you get in the company and if your a lead hand you get away with murder because the supervisors haven't got a clue what is going on so they take the word of lead hands to always be true,,,,its disgusting.  Whenever a supervisor puts something into effect it lasts maybe a week and is never re-in forced again therefore going back to the old way till they the supervisor get caught on it by cfia then they blame workers and act surprised....huge turnover of staff and supervisors...but from what I learnt there the supervisors get there direction from head office who hasn't got a clue what is happening don't even think they know how miserable the employees are and the morale is very low.  They do a major clean up before head office or audits visit but isn't' like that normally as very disorganized, lots of waste of product people not properly trained and they don't give a hoot about health and safety just get the job done no matter how and if smoke and dust is bothersome oh well put on a painters mask which does nothing.  A lot of physical work.  Surprised this company hasn't been shut down!!!!  Wouldn't eat this product after seeing how its handled.

This company uses very poor judgement, there are workers who are drinking and smoking marijuana in their cars on company property, i have witnessed this on more than 5 occasions, even lead hands do this.

Majority of people that work here are either addicts, or had prior law issues. 

Management and HR are probably the worst i have witnessed. No compassion, everyone is treated like a piece of trash here. 

Lead Hands have no prior experience. They do not know how to deal with people, witnessed lead hands snapping on temps for no reason.

Witnessed a lead hand on nights drop, $5,000 worth of product operating a fork lift, right before the incident he went to his car to smoke, when he came out, you could smell it.

Management knows about this and turns a blind eye, as long as production numbers are solid, they could care less.

Worst experience in 20 years in the working field.

They need to do better!

Overall the job is pretty simple. It's pretty repetitive and no rotating of positions. The day shift gets preference and the afternoon shift rarely gets 40 hours per week. They say they promote within but that's not true. They favor people from the same geographical area as themselves and certain people get to start sooner than others. The work culture is fantastic. Everyone helps eachother out and everyone gets along. Management is the problem. They're very disorganized and don't know what they're doing. There's no routine and it's chaotic and stressful at times for no reason. You never know when your shift will be finished. There's favoritism because they hire friends and family. The rate of pay could be better too.

There is always something to do here...and always work to be done on non production days. Be ready to work 7 days a week when called upon...but not forced.

You will likely have to work 6 days a week most times during the year. Lines that run have issues consistently, which will have you dressing to get to the floor many times during the shift.

I enjoyed working here, and enjoyed some of the regular employees. 

Do your job and you'll be good. Don't apply if you're lazy...they need workers.

I worked my butt off and made just under $100000 in a year.

Benefits are not the best but as like most employers benefits are not favorable.

Keep your nose to the grind and avoid the politics.

Huge amounts of waste. This could easily be prevented with proper waste prevention procedures (non-existent). Many non-skilled employees promoted with absolutely no supervisory (and/or education) experience. This is certainly indicative of favoritism. No internal posting of job opportunities.

This was one of the worse places to work, STAY AWAY from this place. The management sucks and doesn’t care at all what’s goes on, they tell you to be clean and wash your hands! When everyone is touching there faces and then touching the product. When something  falls on the floor we just pick it right up and put it back in the bin to be packed and sent down the line. No one here cares or will help you! Do not WORK here! And as a temp! YOU ARE expendable and will be replaced very fast!

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Everything.  The work is nuts n fast n cold

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Dont like it.  Push push push.  They are momey orientated

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Gast n cold n people crabby.  I never work like that again

If you choose to work here dont Except any help from management. There is no communication at all. They have workers that just sit in the lunch room for 9hrs a day and get paid for 12hrs. But if you slack off cause your not Chinese be prepared to be written up. Mind you they dont investigate they will just take the word of anyone.And all .assembly work speak only mandarin/Cantonese.
