- Booking appointments for my travel week in the US or in Eastern Canada and following up on potential sales with the help of a detailed Excel program 
- Meet with customers and present a customized Power Point presentation to demonstrate how our products can offer solutions to their railroad track maintenance and safety problems 
- Developed skills in customizing Power Point presentations to appeal to a specific customer. The speed of preparing complex RFP packages to government and corporate agencies ( including Buy America RFP's ) was enhanced and the award success rate was 70%.    
- Management was supportive in providing presentation aids, marketing support, and solving problems which would arise quite often as a sales person aims to accommodate the needs of his customers.
-Management would remind sales people of estimates and projects that needed follow up. 
- Co-workers supported the sales people in the sales cycle whether it was providing the estimation, order entry, production and delivery of a current product or developing a newly engineered product 
-The hardest part of the job was pushing co-workers to hit a challenging delivery date  
- The most enjoyable part of the job was building long term customer relationships and exploring all the great cities and towns in Canada and in the USA

Polycorp Ltd. is located in the heart of Center Wellington - a beautiful small town called Elora, ON.  The management style at Polycorp is somewhat old-school with an emphasis on hard work and less emphasis on work safety.  The pay is above average - You stand to make about 18-20 dollars hourly with incredible weekend bonuses and a fantastic benefits package.  Other than that, Polycorp is mostly shift work with 12 hour rotational shifts (continental).  Some people have specialty shifts but most will work a combination of days and nights.  Extreme health hazards - fumes, rubber smoke, sharp objects, tripping hazards, slipping hazards, air contamination, dirt, dust, debris and many others might deter you from working here but the pay is solid and like mentioned, the benefits are unmatched.  Standard factory procedures.

What is the best part of working at the company?
I have been working for Polycorp for just under a year. They have been fair in my hours and pay. The couple I work directly for are good to me. They have helped me hone some of my skilss, like flooring and useing equipment such as jack hammer. They trust me to do my job to the best of my ability and give me a lot of free range in my work, and my work schedual.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As in all companies there is alway something...right?! Equipment fails, or is faulty but this never gets in the way of a good work experience. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is laid back, but hands on. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day for me is to use my common sence. When its beautiful outside I do yard maintenance such as shrub trimming, leaf gathering, weeding, mowing. On crummy days they have me rip up or instal floors or vacuum the underground garage. They are always versitilke in their needs.

 I recommend Polycorp for any maintenance trades as they have a very solid team of professional people in the maintenance department.

The pace is good with plenty of interesting projects to stay busy with during the shift, of course there can be stressful moments during critical equipment breakdowns but nothing out of the ordinary for any industrial professional. The PM schedule they have here has kept downtime to a minimum so you're not just putting out fires all day.

Everyone is always willing and able to help you out here if you run into unfamiliar territory.

Really enjoyed culture.  Expect hard work for many different types of rewards.  Monthly free lunches.  Free coffee, squishers, water etc.  Many new and exciting projects aways on the go.  Growing company that keeps investing in it's people and Plant.  Global company makes job exciting if you like travel.  Rubber is a dirtier industry, so, as long as you are prepared, you will be OK.  Some of the smartest people you will ever meet work here.  Can be overworked if you let yourself - work life balance is tough.

Teaches about measuring and diagram reading, on-the-job training provided for forklift, overhead crane operations, electric pallet truck.
Proper PPE is always readily available by means of vending machine.
Routine daily audits on machines for safety assurance.
Company BBQs, staff meetings, performance assessment every 3-9 months.
Very knowledgeable supervisors who care how their teams are doing.

Most jobs here for new hires are 12 hr. continental days for 2 weeks and then 12 hr. nights for 2 weeks rotating.
The ones in charge will switch you around as they see you fit.
You're nothing but expendable and replaceable.
The management and owners have zero consideration for people's lives.
Most enjoyable part of the job is the benefits and decent premium bonuses on the paycheck.




Most new employees start on the pressline which is the hardest most intense job in the factory by far ask anyone in there. If you wanna sweat out 100lbs in a month work here. On-top of that you get paid the least which is fair for new people but the hardest job that nobody wants should be paid fhe most it's common sense if your a woman you get a free pass to an easy higher paying job, it takes most men minimum a few years to make more money and get a better position.

Worked at polycorp for a few months apparently human resource and the floor manager don’t understand family issues was let go due to a personal matter place is a joke management is pathetic team leads spend most of the shift outside smoking don’t bother with this place is you want to work holidays and never have time to yourself 

Polycorp is the worst place that I have ever worked. They pride themselves on being a "best managed company", but I can say that no employee would give them that title. The management is horrible. Their go to moves are intimidation & bullying. I personally experienced this a number of times, including intimidation & bullying from the HR manager.
