The only positive thing I will say about this company is that after obtaining a permanent position, you are eligible to benefits and lieu days which is really nice... 
ALRIGHT, let's get to it, this place is T-O-X-I-C. You will be bullied, manipulated, undercut, and abused if you give them the chance. Management is corrupt all the way to the top so don't bother with them or the union, as all the union reps are best friends with management. They will manipulate the rules in order to get what they want.
To top this rant off, the lack of training is unbelievable. They will provide training for your first day, of course, but as soon as they force you to go to another house you will be shot down and told "we do not provide training for that position".
LONG STORY SHORT, just don't.

It’s interesting to read the negative reviews. Clearly disgruntled employees that weren’t doing their jobs. Prima is an amazing company to work for. Management and owners make caring for the clients their number one priority. All companies run into employees that want to get paid to work as little as possible. Prima management doesn’t stand for that. That is why there are negative reviews IMO. The new managers do everything to ensure the clients lives are filled with love, good care and fun events. The owner cares about his clients and employees. There are definitely staff shortages, but that is in ALL health care fields. 

I find that Prima as an agency goes above and beyond in really providing excellent care for the individuals. The owner and directors are familiar with each individual in care and have a deep level of caring for their well-being and quality of life. Directors are supportive and easily available for any questions, concerns, or problem solving that may come up; but do not micromanage or take autonomy from the program managers or frontline staff. Policies and procedures are clearly written and easily accessible for reference whenever the need arises, and cover just about any question you could have- but if not there is almost always someone available to answer your question or find you an answer.  

I worked for this company for a short period of time. Unfortunately while I was brought on board, management went on holidays, confirmations were not completed for weekend respite clients. No on-hands training was offered for the care of one respite client.
This was a two person program and the ladies I worked with were amazing and overly caring. 
It seems that the company went through several staff so when new staff were brought on board the long term staff quickly needed time off. Unfortunately these needs did not fit for the position I accepted.

Great company that allows for growth in skills.  Not much room to further your career. Management does not have much turn over so no room for growth.  Once a front line worker, you will more then likely stay front line.  
Some group homes have bouts of high turnover, but some have long term employees 20+ years!!!  That says a lot about a company in my opinion.  The union is great, however with the new availability rules it has deterred me from returning.  Love the company and the fact that they truly care for the individuals.

Management is thoughtful, organized and very easy to work with. They provide a calm and understanding environment to approach them with any questions or comments you may have. Working there I learned how to properly deliver clients their medication, I got to excel at my career rapidly. It was just awesome!

Management is a joke and doesnt care about clients or staff even though they pretend to. Most of the staff dont care about the clients or their jobs with them. Staff in the office, upper management, are criminals and should be investigated for numerous activities. BC Geu union is also useless.

Structured work environment.  Everything is done at specific times.  You need patience and need to be calm when certain clients become aggressive.  A good place to work overall.

All Prima cares about is money and control. They will do anything to put blame on employees with a total lack of professional support. Management and higher ups are completely out of touch with reality and what working with individuals with diverse abilities is actually like.
