I was one the persons to get things ready for other workers by getting barrels and chemicals ready for processing.  A day could start off by handling bundles of new tress for processing.  We would often trade line work so as not to hurt one side of our bodies.  If needed I would be pulled off the line for other needed work, such as cleaning; building the green houses.  I learned about different trees/plants. I learned about the history of what PRT is.  The management was very supportive and fair to all staff. There were many different cultures ie natives, whites, other.  I enjoyed meeting new people as the turn over rate was high.  Hardest part of the job was wearing the full body suit when dealing with the chemicals, it could get very hot, but I did my job.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The Company its self should be in jail. Though there was still a lot of good people that worked there outside the Corporate class.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The amount of ethically questionable things that happened there on a daily bases

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Hard working and honest people were punished. Lazy liars were loved by the Corporate Class

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Doing the things that no one else would, so other could take the credit

What is the best part of working at the company?
I like that working at PRT Redrock you are really making a difference in the Forest Industry by growing seedlings for tree planters  to replenish the forest.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The fast paced harvest really makes you move and think fast,  it can ware you out by the end of the day.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
It is a team environment, especially during the harvest you have to depend on your partner to get to work done.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Fastpaced during harvest, and very warm during thinning.

There’s plenty of different jobs that need to be done at PRT, so you can learn a lot of new things and won’t get bored. The people are the best. We are a very tight knit bunch but are very accepting of newcomers. We work hard but we also have fun at work! You’ll find some of the best coworkers ever at PRT! Management is also amazing. They commend you when you do a good job and help you to do better if you’re struggling. I highly recommend working at PRT and we’d love to have you join the team!

Lot of good co-workers  to work with. You are part of growing trees for future generations.

Management is disorganized. Corporate managers and detached from workers and work environment. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Poor Safety Culture, Poor wages, Distrust with works and Management and because management is disorganized, the work is harder than it has to be

Unpredictable, unorganized, and harder than it has to be

nothing nice about the place, hot in summer freezing in winter wet and cold in spring always outside

everything you do is timed and counted rush, rush Rush

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
snobs very unfriendly a lot of Bullying

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
start early 6a.m. go go go finish wet and cold and muddy and do it again advancement takes years

I strained a muscle in my back and was unable to finish the work day so I was brought into the back room and they basically convinced me for 15 minutes why shouldn’t report the back problem to WSBC and that if my back was still sore the next day I should call in and “lie” and just say that I am sick. They gave me reasons upon reasons including that there company would take significant losses and that other employees wouldn’t get pay raises and such if I made it a WSBC matter

Each day can be different from the day before. I have learned that a tree seed within 2 weeks grows to about an inch and within 6 months can be a foot or more. I find this amazing that it will become a huge tree on day. My management is pretty good. The work place culture for the most part is pretty good. The hardest part of my job is when I load the greenhouses, it is very heavy and fast moving job. The most enjoyable part of my job is when everything goes as planned and run smoothly.

Management was okay and it was a steady work week but the work you do should be paid at least $18 an hour for the amount of labour that you do. Lots of repetitive movements and lifting which is to be expected. I enjoyed being outdoors but have done other labour jobs for more money. If they don't increase the wage I wouldn't bother working for them. Underpaid and tons of staff turnover. 

depending what time of year it was, usually busy getting the trees seeded, then thinned out growing to be packed in the fall to be planted next year. great bunch to work with some good laughs. management is good just didn't like they cut our piece rate back a few times over the years. and not a lot of raises for hourly work.
