At one point in time part of GTIS was to become an independant agency and basically we were trying to prepare for that eventuallity.  However, with all of the changes on the political front, this change never transpired.

There were many challenges in this position.  One of the courses that I had to coordinate, dealt with an 8 unit course that had to be given in succession to every employee accross Canada including shift work employees that were on 3 shifts.  It was doable however, there were some very interesting twists that we had to account for.

The management and staff were great and very helpful.  They helped with the development of reports and budgetary considerations.

Liaison with many different types of clients from employees at all levels to training coordinators accross Canada was very stimulating.

I loved this job.

Work with a variety of different people and a very fun group to work with, everyone was always willing to help you out.  This job I had for 18 years in different positions and I only left because I was returning to New Brunswick after being in the province of Quebec for 26 years.  This is the type of place were the staff and management work together to get the final project done.  Staff Parties were fun and enjoyable and every year you had a review of your position and all the management staff always gave positive feedback on how things could be changed or done in a different way  What a wonderful group of people to work with

Conversion from Mainframe to Windows AIX LUW  DB2 ...  Excellent reviews and recognition for outstanding work.  Using current and up to date technology with multiple interfaces .. Steep learning curve from a development stand point. I love a good challenge which was ever present on this project.  Keeps you on your toes .. Never a dull moment

This was the most enjoyable position that I have been in as it was what I had received my educational training in and therefore was the most enjoyable and exciting as I was continually learning and applying the skills that I had obtained

Lots of fiefdoms. Disparate parts of the organization do not for a cohesive whole. Would benefit from a review of Treasury Board policy to require other government departments to provide their anticipated requirements by the end of fiscal Q3.

Provided bookkeeping services in financial accounting using Excel
• Managed accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Generated financial statements such as income statement and balance sheet
• Prepared bank statement reconciliation
• Filed periodic financial reports

The work load kept me busy all day

the most enjoyable part was the job setting .

Most managers are ex navy on pensions that do not care about their employees or there own job.
Managers are undereducated and careless. 
The main focus at egd is to defraud the government.

There was helpful management which I appreciated.  The people were thoughtful and fun to work with, which made working there enjoyable.
