While initially a great environment to work in, with a very knowledgeable and capable team, I found that direction and consistency could shift due to decisions made at the senior leadership level. At times, this resulted in a more micromanaged experience and a lack of recognition when work was completed well.

The most challenging part of the role for me was meeting very high and sometimes changing expectations from leadership, which could conflict with prior professional experience.

From my experience, communication between employees and upper management could be improved. Some concerns felt deprioritized at times, which made it harder for feedback to result in meaningful change.

On the positive side, work-life balance was strong with standard office hours. The role offered valuable exposure to advanced systems and processes, and there was a real opportunity to gain industry knowledge and see complex projects built in real time. Working alongside skilled and dedicated colleagues was one of the most enjoyable aspects of the job.

I would recommend this workplace to those who are new to the industry and looking to gain experience or use it as a stepping stone. Overall, many aspects of the role were enjoyable and educational.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at Pack-Smart is the people and the overall work environment. I really enjoy the hands-on work as a mechanical assembler, and it feels good to be part of a team that builds quality machines. I feel supported, appreciated, and genuinely happy coming to work every day.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part can be the quick project turnaround and the constant innovation. There is always something new to learn, and different assemblies can take time to fully understand. It can be challenging at times, but it also pushes me to keep improving and become better at my work.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The work environment is positive, supportive, and hands-on. Everyone is focused on getting the job done properly, but there is also a good team atmosphere. The culture encourages learning, problem-solving, and improving your skills, especially because every project can be a little different.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day usually involves working on different mechanical assemblies, depending on the project. Some tasks are done individually, while others require collaborating with coworkers to make sure everything is assembled properly. The work stays interesting because there is always something new to learn or improve on.

I had been working for Pack-Smart for 1 year. I applied for Controls engineer position but in fact I had been working as a wireman all that time and that the biggest issue for me. They really needed people for assembling their machines at the moment and they promised everything you want to hear just to lure you in but in fact they wanted people to do manual labor and nothing more. However, there are a lot of other problems:
Safety - forget about it, safety is money and they want costs as low as possible.
Salary - you will be paid bare minimum just enough to make you stay and replace you as soon as they find another unlucky guy who will ask even less.
Work culture - what is that supposed to mean?
Staff turnover - during one year I spent there about 5 guys quit and we are talking about quite small company here, about 50-60 employees I think. I was told that 2019 was even worse in this matter.

I gave them 2 out of 5 only because I know that there are even worse employers (though fortunately I never worked for such companies). In my experience they are the worst and I never expected that previous champion will be ever beaten.

My advice: accept their offer only if you are truly desperate but even in this case do not stop you search for better work.

 I really enjoyed working at Pack-Smart. Upper management gave lots of support during my transition and establishing myself within the company. I left Pack-Smart because I was given a job elsewhere for $3 more per hour. I honestly regret leaving Pack-Smart now. I have to be on call 24/7 at my new job while working with miserable people. At least at Pack-Smart, you can sleep at night and make friends. The hours can get long during the busy season at Pack-Smart but you get recognition and compensation. Your get performance review often which is nice. I haven't gotten any performance review or raise over the past year at my new job. I would have been making more money at Pack-Smart than I am making now at my new job. Just don't get carried away - focus on your goals and management will make sure they are met. Takes this from me who was to focus on the big picture instead of setting goals as I progressed. 

What a experence I had at Pack Smart. I was sent home today and was kind of shocked. Not sure who my boss was had people telling me what to do who had less knowledge then I.
If their was a issue nothing was said. They could of said somthing to hear both sides.
 I have never experienced communist country but boy this was close to what I have here about it. I have 30 years of experience and was trying to show many mistakes but was told that's the way by people with no experience. Alot of employees feel the same but are imigrantes with families.
Never in my life was told that I was slow. They gave me a job with no drawings and I wired it.
They brought in some contractors with no  OEM experience and they stayed because of the friendly politics of knowing others.

learned alot about automation and tech. was able to travel around the world and got good compensation. 
got pretty good pay here some other employee who had lower postions then me were getting more money then i was making at tesla were i worked before PackSmart and honeslty i was literlly working like a dog at tesla . so nice to see a company that takes care of its employees.  
this is the job that allowed me to save enought money to go and do my masters and just recently finished my masters 

pretty good company to work for since everyone has similar interests and a passion for automation, innovation and technology. Grew pretty fast here since i got to work directly with many well respected companies however i did put in the hours in the office which led me to get many promotions, raises and bonuses. Was able to support my family over the year allowing my wife to stay home with my child. Overall i enjoyed coming in everyday since i was around a supportive team and management and did what i love : work with automation and technology.  

I came to Pack-Smart after spending 3 years at a dead end field engineering position. Even during the interview process I fell in love with the equipment that was being built on their floor and knew that the company was a good fit for me. Within the first week I already felt as if I had already been there for a year. The management team is firm, with a strict emphasis on meeting deadlines, the people working there are happy to be there, and as a technology guy. I love the constant stream of new projects that are always changing. 

Everyday I was  exposed to problem solving  situations. We were  expected to be laser focused on our customers' needs. 
Work was stress full however,  support was always given when requested. Its was a truly great learning experience team is like a family.
Slackers don't last for too long winch was  great. Boss used to say- if you are looking for a retirement home , Pack-Smart is not the place, if you looking  to retire from Pack-Smart  it may be a place for you, that's  if your are willing to earn your retirement here.  unfortunately I moved to Europe had had to leave the company. still miss the action  sometimes

A very different dynamic for most companies in that at Pack-Smart engineers work very closely with assembly and manufacturing persons. Meetings are usually help at the project that you are assisngned to which is a common way issues get solve. The job definetly requires on the sport thinking and problem solving, but seeing a line that you design being used in applications on international stage is very much rewarding.
