A typical day at work here is getting into the shop waiting for your party cheif to show up, and when he does you would fill up the truck with what ever supply's you would need for that day. I learnt some pretty valuable skills while working here, like working under pressure, time management, working as a team, and meeting deadlines. 

There management could use some improvements in communication with there employees. the co-workers there are as good as it can get, they make new employees feel like apart of the team right away. For the hardest part of the job I world say is working in winter, if you don't like the cold that much. The most enjoyable part of the job would have to be the summer barbecues they do during the summer for their employees to say thank you.

I worked as both a party chef and assistant at Pals, and honestly, it was a tough experience. The management was disorganized, communication was poor, and there was a lot of favoritism.  It felt like the leadership had a “do as I say, not as I do” attitude, which made things frustrating. The pay was low, and there was no real work-life balance. Over time, the job only got harder, with more demands and little support. That said, I did enjoy working outdoors—it was the only thing that kept me going through the rough days. oh year insurance takes a year to start and its useless. 

It will make you appreciate your future jobs. 

work in a two man crew doing rprs/stakeouts/grading in the Edmonton and surrounding area. public relations when doing a survey job in residential areas informing neighbors when a property post must be located on their property uncovering the post and restoring the lawn as best as possible with little to no damage.must locate property posts and elevation markers and acms. restocking survey supplies and General maintenance and upkeep of the company vehicle. time management and little to no supervision when completeing the jobs. basic drafting and measuring of anything inbedded in the ground on the property.

This place is only good if you are in desperatly need of a job but expect below average pay. No career or financial growth. The pay is less in comparison to the amount of work you are doing. Work place is stressful and toxic. The managers are ready to blame the worker for mistakes instead of owning  up. If you do want to work here I would recommend don't stay here to long.your health will suffer.

It is you what you do and what you thing, I learned the most important thing is working hard with honesty it doesn't matter what you do or where you work to improve world industry in a larger view. To be flexible and kind to get along with different attitudes. Just love, don't judge and work hard.

Some good people to work with but poor management skills 

I enjoyed most people I worked with and found management to be kind and fair.  Family comes first with management which is nice. 

management sticks their heads in ground and does not address staff insubordination

Pros: Good place that cares about safety and has good people to work with.

Cons: Not much opportunity to advance your career and low base pay with OT expected every day.

Summary:  Don't avoid the place but keep your eyes open for your next stop.

You work by yourself but as part of a team to get all the parts and pieces together for each project.  Winters are slower, but Summer are extremely busy and intense during the construction season.

Fun place to work with great people. Not always about getting the job done like other places, they put safety of the crews at the top priority.

I already missed the nice people and culture in the company. I am proud to be one of Pals Geomatics employees. I worked hard and I received respects of them as well.
