If you are seeking out a new job career or want a change, give ParaSpace a try. If you are a kind of person that just wants that pay at the end of two weeks, look elsewhere as this company will not align with you. 

At this job I made life long friends, enjoyed my time outdoors (but working in rain is tough). I was happy to leave the house in the morning in search of accomplishment and came home at the end of the day tired. I worked all day with my close friends, most days I was making new friends and even conversing with customers for time to time. This job takes dedication and the drive to have a new lifestyle and it can take a few months or even upwards of 1 year to become comfortable and confident. I worked with multiple people that started off with ParaSpace looking for a new career and they did and are doing really well, I also saw people leaving constantly for different reasons. Don’t be mistaken, this company is large, you might be working a 5 minutes drive or a 1 hour drive from home and meeting/working withnew people constantly. Over the years working I did realize there was a few lies said to me from the beginning but I made peace with them or brought them up for clarification. This company is searching for quality workers not just to do work, but quality in terms of punctuality, attitude, respectful and someone than can stand up for what is right. The pay is pretty good as a beginner and after a few years working at ParaSpace, but you are working to better yourself and the landscape around you. 

This company and colleagues push you to be a better worker (if that’s not you, don’t apply) by understanding the basics of gardening or landscaping. If you want a long career you can get accredited in many different areas of gardening/landscaping. During COVID I heard terrible stories of people getting laid off and their working conditions, we kept working full time at Paraspace and I was so happy to have a job. According to these reviews before me there will always be better places to work, but at the same time theres worse, worse, worse places to work than ParaSpace.

If you are new in landscaping this would be a great starting point. Corporate gatherings make it super easy to connect with co-workers; whereas, seminars carried by mid-management give the necessary understanding of what is being done in the field and for what purpose.

Another notable advantage Para Space provides to its staff is secure winter hours. Unless it is a natural disaster you can be sure that the day is not going to be canceled. Moreover, during cold months the company runs aeration and deep edging crews, so there is always a job to do for everyone who does not want to be laid off in winter.

If you ever worked for another landscaping company, however, Para Space may seem like a harsh place of employment. The system of reports based on daily written reports and endless phonecall-reports tracks labor activity like a surveillance drone. The head office always makes sure you don't get paid for the time you did not actually work (or at least pretended to do so).

Some work sites are located as far as Langley, so if you had a misfortune to tell them that you have a car, be prepared to spend up to 2 hours a day in traffic. This huge waste of personal time is not compensated in any way. 

Lastly, the seriousness with which the company treats paperwork is beyond insanity. Although supervisors have a form for every occasion, it is nearly impossible for them to find the right one when the situation requires so. 

All in all, one of the most memorable places I worked at, but I would never want to come back there again.

In this job, the daily work atmosphere depended heavily on which site supervisor you were assigned to. Some supervisors were friendly and easy-going, creating a positive team environment that motivated me to work harder and take pride in what I was doing. However, most of the time, the prevailing culture leaned toward strict criticism and low morale. No matter how hard or diligently you worked, your efforts were often overshadowed by constant fault-finding, with little to no positive reinforcement. On the rare occasions when praise was given, it often felt insincere and out of place.

Supervisors frequently held end-of-shift meetings to review everyone’s performance, but many lacked time-management skills and regularly extended these meetings past our scheduled off-hours, resulting in unpaid overtime. Over time, the overall atmosphere became mentally draining, making me feel more like an emotionless machine than someone who could enjoy their work.

The one significant advantage was the competitive pay, which was issued biweekly and always on time. However, to the best of my knowledge, the company no longer hires employees without a personal vehicle. Staff are required to drive their own cars, and job locations are assigned randomly. It was common to be sent to very distant sites, with last-minute changes often made the night before, which meant I had to double-check my schedule every evening just to ensure I knew where I was going the next day.

I've worked at Para Space for 2.5 years, and in that short time I've climbed from laborer to pre-management, and nearly doubled my pay grade. If you are willing to put in the effort with Para Space, they will open whatever doors you want to go through. I've learned a ton about horticulture, leadership and productivity and have found a career path long term. 

My favourite part of working here though, is the people and culture. I came from jobs where you were treated as just another expendable body, to a workplace that genuinely cares about the people they employ. They're seriously invested in your professional and personal development. Everyone is challenged to be a better than they were yesterday. I've felt you can talk to your peers/supervisors/managers about anything going on in your life, and someone is always there to listen. 

There's company-wide events throughout the year like bowling, go-karting, golf, family picnics, hockey/football pools, professional development days, pumpkin carving, community outreach days and photo contests. There's benefits and a group RRSP. The workplace safety program is one of the best in the industry.

The work is physical and very fast paced, but if you can keep up, you'll be rewarded very well. If you enjoy a challenge and want to climb ranks quickly, this company is for you.

I started my time at Para Space without knowing much about landscaping. Just wanted to try out an outdoor job and see if this is something I’d like. During my time at Para Space, I was given lots of learning opportunities and training by different supervisors and managers that helped me along the way. There are in house seminars taught by knowledgeable managers and they also sponsored me to get multiple landscape related certifications. The work can challenging and fast paced but also very rewarding. There is also always someone to help you when you encounter a problem. Now I am at a position where I get to do a mixture of spend time in the field, training other people, pruning hedges and also meeting with clients to provide a good landscape for them and solve their landscaping problems. Management has been supportive to help me get to where I am and the workplace environment has been collaborative where people help each other to do better. The hardest part of the job is working outside in the rain and cold but at the same time, because I have experienced the rain and cold, it makes the sun and warmth more enjoyable than before. Plus blowing a big pile of leaves and pruning a sharp looking hedge is very satisfying.

Working at Paraspace has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career so far. As a young professional in the horticulture industry, I’ve felt supported, mentored, and truly valued by the entire team — from crew members to management.

The projects are meaningful, the team is collaborative, and there’s a genuine respect for work-life balance. I always felt heard, and there were regular performance reviews to support growth and recognize hard work.
Paraspace truly invests in its employees. I’m grateful for the time I’ve been spending here — it's more than just a job for me; it’s a place where I’ve grown professionally and personally.



If you go to "Company Reviews" on indeed and type in "PARASPACE" and "Para Space". You will see all of the reviews on how terrible the company is. They appear as a good company at first glance but once you get in , you will see how bad it really is. Supervisor and Manager Inconsistency across the board. I feel terrible for the good supervisors and managers having to deal with terrible coworkers on the same level as them. What I mean by Good Supervisors and Managers? ones that have Interpersonal Skills and Proper Leadership. There is a reason that in orientation, they tell you "its just constructive criticism" but half the supervisors don't know how to actually give them, its embarrassing. You better hope you get the good supervisors because those ones know what Morale is. They know how to get you moving and to keep you motivated while others just pound you down until 4:45pm hits where they give you the final blow. It is definitely not a Great Place to Work award winner with such a high turnover rate. Some things are too good to be true and this is one of them.

I Started from nothing but this company help me a lot to reach my goal. The management are very supportive and professional . In my first year ,I never talked and demand anything from the company I was just happy working thankful to have a job . Lots of people in the world struggling to find a good job and a good company. The job in the fields are not easy and I let my work ethic do the talking. Para space didn't let your hardwork go unnoticed. I had so much doubt about my self to get my goals but my manager believes in me. it's my almost six years now working in this company and I'm very satisfied and happy with the wage, the support of the people in the management in my career.   The company is no perfect but as an employee / worker /supervisor/Technician we also have to share our part to perform our duties and responsibilities . Many people quit their jobs not because the company didn't care for them, it is mostly because they're not motivated and they don't also care about the company , they only want what benefits them and sometimes they can't  handle physical work.

Para Space is easily the best landscaping company in B.C. to work for. No other company even comes close to providing the employment stability, training, education, safety and opportunities for advancement. The wages are competitive, though I have seen a few higher and I’ve seen many lower in the industry. They do spend a lot of money on taking care of their team in other ways though like giving out swag, paying for education, having well maintained trucks and equipment and holding fun events. Increases are based on performance and taking on more responsibility, so if you’re lazy and not a high performer, don’t bother applying. They invest heavily in their people and the culture is quite good for the most part. Rotten apples are usually weeded out quickly.  I felt compelled to write this review upon seeing the other reviews. Unlike many companies, they pay OT and the nonsense about not getting a final cheque is total BS. Anyone who knows how employment standards works would see through that review. It seems like every company around is trying to minic PS and those who don’t cut it there are green with envy. Haters gonna hate!
