However, the job can be demanding with long hours, and sometimes shifts are not always consistent. Pay rates are competitive, but there could be more room for advancement within the company. The training provided a clear understanding of workplace safety and health responsibilities. A typical day involved learning about hazards, rights, and duties for employers, supervisors, and workers. I learned how to identify risks, report hazards, and use protective equipment properly. The management team was supportive and informative, creating a positive learning environment. The workplace culture emphasized safety, participation, and teamwork. The hardest part was memorizing all the regulations, but the most enjoyable part was the interactive quizzes and real-life examples that made learning practical and engaging.

I work for Paragon Security and was contracted to work at Conestoga College. If you get hired by this company do not work for Conestoga. Conestoga management is toxic, disrespectful, and unprofessional. They remove people from their site without prior notice, in the middle of work days. The representative for paragon handles it poorly and cares more about his image than about his employees. Other sites are much better and the company in general is good. 

They're constantly hiring people so its easy to get in here if you're new to the industry. They provide all the gear and training you'll ever need, and if you have a vehicle you'll get tons of shifts as long as you're not an idiot.

That said, I didn't appreciate the bait and switch tactic of posting the job at $20, but actually starting new people at min wage and bumping them up to 20 after the 3 month probation.  



ve been working at Paragon Security, and here’s my honest take:

Pros:

The training was solid and well-organized. They make sure you understand protocols before putting you on site.

Scheduling is flexible depending on your availability, and you can pick up extra shifts if needed.

Work environment depends on the site, but most places I’ve worked at have been professional and cooperative.

You get to build good experience if you’re aiming

If you have connections you will get a permanent sight .
There are always no vacancies for a good signt. Only people with connections will get that
Two times I had the opportunity for a permanent position but unfortunately something went wrong that the other new guys got that job though I'm working in this company from july2023.

They’ll  take advantage of you if you don’t speak up and they’ll always talk rudely no matter who in the dispatch or management position. If you take a day off they’ll make it seem like it’s the end of the world it’s only cause dispatch doesn’t want to do their job and find a person to fill in the spot so they’ll say you have to come in even though you don’t and already booked off

The job itself is fairly easy, a lot of walking and climbing up and down the stairs. Just roam arounf like a ghost and report anything suspicious direct and simple. 
The upper management involves with too much drama if everything is working fine they would ADVICE policies that would make rhings a little different until you get used to it and then comes something new.
